Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa’s plea before the Supreme Court, the Office of the Solicitor General said the law “was never intended to provide an excuse for evasion” or become “a weapon wielded only by those with power.” The OSG added that justice must also remember “the voiceless dead, whose cries never reached a courtroom,” warning that “no amount of technical reasoning can disguise the absence of justice.” “Our conscience will know.
