The Pokémon scalper war in Japan has reached a breaking point. Stores are now literally cutting the corners of booster packs at checkout to kill the resale value. If we’ve reached the point where we have to mutilate the product just to keep it in the hands of fans, the hobby is in serious trouble. This isn't a solution; it’s a symptom. And it’s only going to get uglier. Valid move or total desperation?

The Mineru's Construct amiibo costs 4,980 yen in Japan. The closest comparable amiibo prices are the Mario Galaxy ones that are 4,000 yen, or $34.99 in the United States. Since this is slightly more expensive, I'd have to guess that the amiibo will probably be $39.99 here.
