For those who used a computer between 1995 and 2001, what's the computer game from that time that sticks with you the most, and why?

@UridiumAuthor They only ran it in first practice - I believe it wasn't on the car for either quali-session or the sprint race.

Haven`t heard it mentioned yet, but the lovely Ferrari rotating rear wing might even provide some uplift while inverted, to effectively make the car lighter. And even if this one doesn`t, maybe it`s a thought for the Mk II version?

@UridiumAuthor Yeah, I've been told a few times I'm still writing in assembly, just using C/C++ to do it. :) I still recall my delight when I discovered the shaders on the 3DS were assembly based - a very happy day.

Even though it has been 30 years since I wrote any assembler, I'm fairly sure that although I write in C, it's clear that I'm thinking in assembler. All the linked lists, bit settings, and offset from pointers live on. The 68000 was a BIG influence on my programming.

@games_rozz This depends on the platform you're most interested in. Few genres perform equally well across everything.

I corrected the bad chemistry in Monster Molecules and now I have proper Benzene. While I was in there; I decided to add in some tough Pink Panther diamond crystals, and then reduced the graphite lattices from 9 to 4 atoms for easier carbon. Added some mass to the Uridimines too.

@duha_the_best What gave you the idea of mapping ASCII characters to a 3D point cloud?

@_dareDev I enjoyed that. I didn`t see it on iMax, but the aspect ratio changes on the Blu-ray when the iMax scenes come in. The sound is excellent, love the bass drums in the back.

I bought the 4K edition of the original 1982 TRON movie. The old DVD was always a bit fuzzy. Looks great now, finally we can see the detail. Love that movie, and I suspect it was an inspiration for me in writing games. One scene screamed Simulcra at me, which was Dominic's work.

@_dareDev Spent yesterday thinking about how to do a successor to Avalon. Would like to do spells fired by hand movements.

Had a day off yesterday. Feels so strange not programming after putting in about 16 hours a day for the last couple of weeks. Just like the old days programming and testing to the early hours to get a release ready. I used to go back to work after dinner.

@_dareDev Still working without a passcode on my phone, just the website version changed so far. Might have to kindly refuse any more phone updates. I already have way too many passwords to memorise which is where.

So now I can`t see nor send a DM without a passcode? That`s ridiculous. I don`t find passcodes particularly safe, and there`s only me here on my PC. Please make the passcode optional.

I thought, when I ordered my sister`s birthday present for next week, that by selecting and paying extra for next day delivery; I might be communicating urgency. They`ve sat on the order for 5 days now.
