@hellodonavon hmmm in that case i'd look into buying the World Championship reprint decks for them to play. they go for pretty cheap (if PTCG still makes em??) and you can find em at W*lmart and Target. another alternative is to get proxies to see if they like the game enough to invest further

Kids are dabbling in Pokemon cards, but based on my decade of experience in online retail, it's pretty much impossible to buy this shit unless you're a reseller botting the site. Am I going to have to walk into an actual brick and mortar store for this shit or what?

@hellodonavon also yeah re; upgrading starter decks from packs-- less feasible now that with the amount of trash that they print and stuff into packs. pokémon is the worst offender of the big 3 (YGO, MTG, PTCG) but it's still very much a cash sink that you're paying for the novelty of

@hellodonavon it depends on their interest! are they mostly interested in playing optimized decks, decks with their favorite pokemon, or are they mostly in it for collecting? u'd be prime to engage them on the differences if u played mtg all those years ago :)
