We are seeing $$$ flying around about Texas Longhorns donations being the highest in the land.
Yeah, the number is big, however think about this for a minute.
"With great power comes great responsibility."
If you look at just the $$$ signs, you are missing something incredible.
For the sake of argument, lets double or triple that amount to a quarter or half a billion dollars. Crazy money. It's reasonable to say, "Wow!"
However, nobody is asking what is Texas doing with the money.
#1. That money will be invested in the lives of young people who will actually go and 'Change the World" as you will see in a moment.
#2 Texas will put on and create an experience that, if you attend just once, will provide you an experience that you will never ever ever forget and you will talk about the rest of your life.
Have you ever been to a football game, volleyball match (OMG that is an insane experience), how about a Men's or Women's Basketball game at Moody.
How about a Texas Baseball game? Geez, are those cool. Did you know that before you arrive someone wipes down ever seat in the stadium so it they are spotless. All fans are treated like VIP, more accurately like family
We have met the coaches, players, staff, and University staff and they are humble servants with one mission. Giving the students the best possible experience of their lives.
What would happen if you gave more? Say double or triple the investment.
That's right "investment," becuase that is exactly what it is.
Every dollar you spend on tickets, food at the event, every jersey you wear is an investment into a brighter future for everyone.
Let us give you a real world example that just happened.
Today at noon we had the privilege of being in the dugout at Disch-Falk field and interviewed Jayden Duplantier who had just earned a spot on the SEC Community Service Team.
Duplantier is a Texas Longhorns outfielder and wears No. 6
Duplantier was one of 16 in all of the SEC to be selected. There are about 7,300 student-athletes in the SEC as a reference.
The citation said it best of Duplantier:
"During his four years on The Forty Acres, Duplantier has demonstrated a strong commitment to serving both the campus and local community through leadership, mentorship and civic engagement.
On campus, Duplantier has participated in voter registration and civic engagement initiatives through 'RISE to Vote.' The Humble, Texas, native has also helped welcome the next generations of Longhorns by providing campus tours and assist with new student-athlete orientation.
Within the Austin community, Duplantier has spent time with the National Beep Baseball Association, sharing America's pastime with individuals who are blind and visually impaired."
There is no price tag you can put on this and your investment has paid dividends. Though it may go unnoticed, the impact has a ripple long into the future.
