In a vacuum the 10th pick for the gamble that Dex bounces back is a good move IMO, but I understand why it’s less beneficial for them because of their current cap/roster situation. I still like it for them

The extent to which Dex and AJ’s down 2025 was related to poor effort/being unhappiness w/ their environment (or health) is a huge unknowable factor for 2026 If CIN/NE get 95% of those guys primes they are both force multipliers. If they’re on decline trading a 1 is a mistake

@FantasyKash Agreed. I think the upside of getting a HOF DT for even 2-3 years is worth the gamble. The Bengals previous mismanagement of their roster makes this move more complicated, but the 10th pick for Dex swap at face value is not poor trade

@_dtrace I don’t think they did and I think Dex bounces back But if 2025 was the a sign of a decline that continues into 2026 yeah it’s not a good move and I would rather have Caleb downs on a rookie contract

@FantasyKash The seemingly consensus opinion that the Bengals grossly overpaid for Dex has never made sense to me. I understand the % of cap to four players angle, but the best version of Dex is not just a normal Pro Bowl level player. He was one of the most impactful players in the sport

I don’t know how actionable this is right now. For now im assuming they weren’t giving full effort (more confident on that w/ Dex than AJ) but I’ll be watching closely early season For right now I think I’m gonna be very high on both teams, especially CIN
