$50 million college football rosters is wild. I think college football — and basketball to a degree — are headed to a place where only the ten biggest schools can afford to pay players and a ton of the others are facing bankruptcy and/or cutting tons of programs to keep up.

SEC/B10/B12 inflated themselves to almost 20 members each, and want their 12th-16th teams in the tournament. It's why it expanded. Feel free to direct your anger at them and not some boogie man named "The NCAA". Realignment has been criminal to college athletics in many ways.

The media lapdogs love to be outraged at "The NCAA" about current conditions. Every few months they laugh it up with the actual puppeteer of this same NCAA without a hint of regard. In fact, they amplify his needs. Their concerns are fake. Their BFF stature is critical however.

@_eddiemoscone This is exactly right. It's time to stop blaming "the NCAA" and to be clear. It's the SEC and Big 10 overwhelmingly responsible for the current state of college athletics, with some ACC and Big 12 sprinkled in. Period.
