@twenny_wan ill also add that, in my own experience online, the people i see hating ATSV miguel are usually comic fans and the hate for spot comes from the general public who seems to think he became evil bc of a bagel. i really dont like seeing either of them😭

@twenny_wan i think that 1) people talk more about miguel in general than the spot 2) miguel is held at a higher standard since he is spider-man, whereas we (narratively) expect spot to act villainous 3) spot does get hate, but its not as interesting to hate on a villain than an antihero

does anyone genuinely wanna take a crack at explaining why spot is not as hated as miguel
