one of the biggest victims of this is art criticism and writing about art in general. so much art is only passively consumed and not written about in any meaningful depth, and you can't fully blame them either because people aren't engaging enough with that content either

discussions go viral only to be lost to the algo within a week, shared consensus and community memory is not being built, artph is siloed into overlapping but very much separate circles, we're getting some regional voices peeking through but not consistently, etc etc

god i really wanna work on building a history and archive of the philippines' digital art space besides the obvious reasons why it's important, imo so much of the annoyingly recursive discourse is due to the very nature of online platforms as temporally and spatially segmented

My 3 yo put a dried apricot in my water bottle and I didn’t notice, took a sip in the middle of the night and it tasted so weird, shined my flashlight in there, the apricot had rehydrated and was like a perfectly round glowing testicle in the bottom of my water bottle. Horrific
