Today, the Church celebrates the Solemnity of the Annunciation of the Lord. It recalls the historic encounter between Mary and angel Gabriel, when she was told that she would be the mother of God. It reminds us of Mary's YES to the angel's message as well as God's love for humanity.

Happy Annunciation day dear Catholics. Today we’re reminded that Mother Mary is the mother of our God Jesus and her YES to the Lord’s will made us redeemed souls from sins through the coming of her son our God Jesus. Today we pray for mercy for those who dishonor mother Mary🙏

#Annunciation is about openness and submission to the will of God. Mary did not say yes to the angel's message because she fully understood or had all her questions answered; she said yes in faith and trust to the will of God. She shows us that faith is not simply assent, but also surrender.

@thedadaeniola @okikiayo11 You might want to ask why, since Bidemi Olaoba turned it to Alujo and it went viral, it somehow refused to register in my mind as that song that has true reference to God. A song that I used to listen to when I need to pray is now “just there” to me.

One would think they did something terrible but it was just changing the original song from the slow makosa tune to highlife. People are condemning them and saying all sorts of hurtful words because they are worshipping with the sound they're more comfortable with.

@thedadaeniola @okikiayo11 Some songs are supposed to take you to a deeper place of worship and reference of God. Turning it to this literally takes the purpose away from it. Till this moment, as much as I love “Yahweh Saboth”, I do not view it from the initial impression again.
