@_franklinD_ @sinistergrift Hardcore and post-punk both kept the spirit of the scene alive, just in very different ways. And there's a geographic component too that has nothing to do with that—post-punk is largely UK; hardcore is largely American.

@sinistergrift Obviously proto/pure punk fundamentally changed our concept of music and gave us a ton of iconic bands/artists, but like post-punk is just miles better and was a necessary development to keep the spirit of the scene alive lol

Listened to this almost a decade after its release and in retrospect it’s honestly kind of sad how much hate it got back then. Obviously not perfect, but I can’t help but love Yachty’s quirky attitude and silliness all over this record. Fun album!!!
