tension mechanics like this are fun because they force players to improvise
i had an idea that gun pools could be limited, semi-random or give discounts, so players are more encouraged to buy guns that dont see much play instead of defaulting to m4/ak/awp. wont ever happen tho

Counter-Strike developers have just released one of the biggest updates to the meta. Now, if you reload your weapon while there is still ammo in the magazine, the ammo disappears instead of being returned to your reserves. They have also increased (and decreased) the number of bullets for some weapons. The CZ-75, for example, now has 36 bullets instead of 24.

@_goldec The impressive thing was that the DOD, almost on accident, essentially capitalized on the infancy of tactical FPS games when the only titles in a modern setting at the time were Ghost Recon, Rainbow Six, SWAT 3 and (arguably) Operation Flashpoint: Cold War Crisis

The US Army explictly and openly funded the development of games like America's Army, which was earnestly advertised as a recruitment tool, they seriously held no punches about their intentions

@fwappriciator99 Yup as well as prototypes that predates a paper trail and one of their employees was capture by iranian authorities and confessed it was CIA propaganda games (unconfirmed)
