@mangoster True, I recently started a habit where I start a stopwatch to see how much time I spent actually editing. It really helps me to stay focused on one task.

being busy and being productive are NOT the same thing the trap for creatives specifically is that admin tasks FEEL safe editing, on the other hand, is hard, it requires mental energy and creative decisions but replying to dms and file management don't, so u default to those when ur avoiding the real work be honest with urself abt whether u spent the day working or just staying occupied

if an editor can genuinely become reliable and trustworthy in mine or another really good editor’s eyes he will never have to worry abt clients ever again a LOT of the people i know can vouch for this, after a certain point, you physically cannot take on every client that comes your way while maintaining the standard you’ve set for yourself so the best course of action in this case, becomes to refer someone you know and I’ve done that SO many times that everyone I’ve run out of people to refer 😭😭
