@_hamstudy Soooooo wait what's the context? If you're talking about cooking then 조리 is more like HOW do you cook something and 요리 is more like WHAT did you cook! So basically technique is 조리 and oucome(food) is 요리

@_hamstudy 요리 = 여기 here 조리 = 저기 there It means the same thing! 하지만 제 생각에 요리조리는 여기, 저기 처럼 따로 사용하지 않고 요리조리 자체로 한가지 단어의 느낌이에요 (looking around)

@mixxcarus OH…. this makes so much sense now 🤭 cause the dictionary just said it’s cooking so i was like wait a minute because it’s also 요리 and i thought it’s just some fancier word for it

debating about getting a book for TOPIK II but will i even be able to take it one day? 😅 but i don’t think my korean is even good enough for TOPIK I….

@tokkibaery i’m not really sure tbh 😭 will think about it

@_hamstudy TOPIK I is relatively easy to pass. it’s almost impossible to fail if you already speak the language. if you’re planning to spend money on books, i personally think getting TOPIK II books would be a better choice.

i was waiting to pick up my order but didn’t hear the order number well so i came to the counter to ask if it’s mine and while leaving the staff members said between themselves “woah she spoke korean so well….👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻” but i only spoke in like 3 sentences 🥹

i love how in kyobo you can use these searching machines to find a book faster and more easily in the bookstore 🫶🏻 you can print a tiny receipt with a map and immediately will know where to look for the book

@peuldoongnuna my friend brought me to gwanghwamun kyobo so this one i definitely recommend :)

@_hamstudy sorry non-oomf, may i know which kyobo bookstore that you recommend? i’m visiting korea soon and your thread about korean learning books you bought appear in my timeline, i’d like to buy them as well

i fear i’m going to kyobo tomorrow too cause i saw 2 interesting books while being there today and honestly even now i can’t stop debating about getting them so fear it’s a sign i have to buy them cause i will regret not getting them later for sure at this point 😅

@rokssanemarina oh yeah constantly. i remember we were doing some exercises about ㅋ ㄱ ㄲ and ㅈ ㅉ ㅊ and so on to be able to adjust to correct sounds. i think especially at the beginning having a teacher who is korean will be a huge advantage. we study about pronunciation till now tbh

@_hamstudy did you have some advice where help to you fixed or regonize the pronunciations or sounds of consonats+vowels ? (i know sounds a silly question but i'm struggling in this part a bit )

honestly it really feels like it’s been a while since i last studied…. like actually sat down with a textbook and stuff 🥲 this semester really feels like a complete failure for me.
