I want games that used to be made. -not cost an arm and a leg -not made for "modern audiences" made for people who want to relax and enjoy a game -not 100$ -not focusing on DLC more than the main game -not made with the most diverse people, made with the most qualified people -not squeezing the energy and time from developers to make a stringent deadline -not unfinished and resold later products. -not live service that will shut down later along with my money -not 60 remasters -not selling games but a social lecture -not giving me fun and instead giving me chores. (Simulators excluded) Games were always supposed to be for fun and relaxing, to get away from the real world after a long day of work or school, but somehow someway they have moved away from being something about having fun and being entertaining. They're about how many microtransactions can we shove in a single player game. How many CHUDS can we OWN with our game that sold like shit. How far can we push our gullible player base to spend as much as they can. Games that put the player first are getting rarer and rarer. That's an odd oxymoron I see more and more which doesn't make sense considering the player should be the most important person to impress.

Pushed 0.7.7 to ToruTaru main branch, bringing all of the experimental and beta features to the main branch. Intro vastly reduced, softlock bugs fixed, some other changes. Kind of a major update but I’m too tired for fanfare. Next time you play torutaru it’ll be good

Tyler Scheef 2006 - 2024. Today on March 31st 2024. My little brother took his own life. I often modeled myself to be someone that Tyler could look up to. To be strong. To be kind. To be reliable. Loyal. Honest. Tyler has kept me on the straight and narrow for the 18 years of his life. I never had a single thing bad to say about him. I never HEARD anything bad about him. He didn't do drugs, he didn't commit crimes. He was a gamer. A good one. A great one. He's gone now. I'll never forget him. He'll always leave a permanent mark on who I am. I keep a photo of him in my wallet and it will never leave me. I've never had the ability to describe someone as amazing with 0 faults. That's because I'd be comparing them to Tyler. I have yet to meet someone that can be considered my brother's equal. Cause I certainly wasn't. He was a man. A true man. A warrior. I can't and won't speak for him. But I'd assume I just wasn't good enough. I wasn't strong enough to keep him safe. And for the rest of my life, I will have a hole in my heart for him. I will use this as a reminder to be the strongest, kindest, and best person I can be, so no one can feel the way he might have. I love you Tyler. I always have. Always will.
