@Neilo1986 Our change of transfer strategy in terms of targeting more established players shuts the doors on these prospects getting opportunities unless they really stand out which is rare here, unfortunately

@_iamchrisf Problem is there’s no much pressure to bin them off early. We’ve already seen some players develop later, some don’t

Unpopular opinion but I tend to feel our academy potentials are overhyped in desperation to find the next “one of our own” which ideally we all want for that special connection which can’t be brought… and I’m not suggesting Lankshear hasn’t got the ingredients in his locker but is he really gonna get enough consistent opportunities ahead of ready made established forwards fighting towards the top end of the league? I doubt it especially with our new change of direction in regards to transfers. Personally I’d sell with a buy-back clause or first refusal. I think our academy quality in general needs serious attention so there is real possibilities to find the next “one of our own” who can be the baby face/future of our beautiful club

[🥇] NEW: Sporting, Wolves, and Southampton have all had eight-figure approaches to sign Will Lankshear from Tottenham turned down in recent days. @AlasdairGold ‼️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿

Still quite raw but showed plenty of potential at Hamburg. He wanted a club where he’s a guaranteed starter to continue his rapid momentum but PL is unknown territory for him, the pace of the game next level in comparison to other leagues so it’s interesting to see how he adapts. If he progresses like many predict he will be off in 2yrs because his agent wants his client in La Liga. But in the short term you will certainly benefit

@TonyBrooksZoo1 Because we looking at LW position as a priority and a number 9. A third attacker will potentially be one who can also rotate across the front 3 for depth. Solanke will remain. Richarlison will be sold

@TonyBrooksZoo1 Solanke is an established forward and so is Richarlison…. One needs to be sold to make room for another. We need more goals in the team

🚨🎙️ Xavi Simons has PRAISED #thfc’s summer spending so far. 💰👀 “JP is a regular starter in the national team, He is experienced in the Premier League, but as well there's his aggression. You have Senesi and Robertson, very experienced. Roberston won the Premier League and Champions League. “We are finding a good balance between young and experienced players and that's something we maybe missed last season and can't be (allowed) to happen again. “I've played with the best players in the world and I want to play with the best. And the fact the club is spending this kind of money for this type of player gives a clear message to everyone. They want the best players at the club and to bring in the best in each position. “I've played against Tonali for example. I know he is a top player. Aggressive with the ball. He will find the passes to those like me in the No 10 position. He will help the team just to play football and bring success. “Everyone can see that the club is aiming high. We know what happened last season can't even be considered to happen again. This is a massive club. We all know that so at the start of the season, we will see a new Tottenham.” @Matt_Barlow_DM

@tomst7 Moore has potential but I can’t make a fair assessment because I don’t rate the standard in the Scottish league. Otherwise I agree… we tend to overhype our youth

@_iamchrisf Definitely. Given how much is said about our training centre, our youth output is atrocious. Moore, Lankshear, Carroll, Winks, Skipp, Donley, Livermore, Mason, Walker-Peters, Townsend. None were or are standout. Kane and Ledley are the only stars we’ve had in decades.

@_iamchrisf I don’t think decisions should be made until they’re 21 as Harry proved so I wouldn’t want to be selling Lanshear just yet, but I also understand academies are not just about bringing players through, but also making money to help balance the books.

Can definitely see the logic behind that but even as a back up option it comes with limitations especially this season with no European football. Personally I prefer an older head as a back up option. It’s a tricky decision. As for Bergvall I think he definitely gets sold. I expect Forest and potentially Villa who showed previous interest going head to head for his services

@_iamchrisf I don’t think he’s been given an opportunity as of yet, where as i think the likes of Bergvall etc have and he hasn’t particularly pushed on as a player. I would sell Solanke as he’s consistently injured. Give Lankshear a possible chance as backup and buy a striker.

@_iamchrisf Thing is i dont see why we dont apply a madrid/barca style thing on our youngsters by adding a buy back clause incase they blow
