@CityPowerJhb What did you fix when the entire substation blew a few years ago!! Seems as though its a botch job worse than what was.. surely replacing the burnt substation would have measures to prevent all these pathetic reasons for us not having power. Its 2026! Not 1888!

The team is currently onsite carrying out repairs, including the installation of copper connectors, while the dry-ice team continues to clean smoke residue from the panels to facilitate safe restoration. The outage continues to affect customers in Kensington, Observatory, Bezuidenhout Valley (Bez-Valley), Bruma, Cyrildene, Dewetshof, and surrounding areas. At this stage, there is no estimated time of restoration (ETR), as work is still underway. Further updates will be communicated as progress continues onsite.
