We ran a small feasibility trial. Biological rationale: keeping the irradiated tumor in situ longer may allow immune responses within the tumor to develop🕒

Long awaited, we finally have our Boswellia experience out @IJROBP. We show an ORR of 60% and CR OF 12% using Boswellia for radiation necrosis after SRS for brain metastasis. This is a huge win for patients and has changed our practice!!! Check it out!

Is it just me or is the interpretation strange for this study, best ORR was 51% and they say it’s the SOC and SRS should be investigated? SRS has excellent and durable control for brain metastasis and was already the SOC. thelancet.com/journals/lanon…

Dr @_joesia Radiation Oncologist @PeterMacCC & Dr Negar Asadian, Neuroscientist have joined the @braincancerlab team at @WEHI_research Joe brings his expertise from Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre’s Department of Radiation Oncology and is now collaborating with our WEHI team on the Neuro-oncology Translational Radiobiology (NOTR) program. This program, generously funded by PeterMac with support from Prof @svporceddu aims to improve our understanding of brain tumour and radiation therapy interactions. Joe will focus on brain metastases, developing new therapeutic options for patients. Negar will pivot from neuroscience to focus her skills on the brain cancer space. We are incredibly grateful for PeterMac’s crucial support, which has enabled this exciting collaboration, and can’t wait to see what this incredible team can achieve together, working towards a brighter future for brain cancer patients and their families.
