There are certain days in my life that that changed everything..
The day when my friend showed up to my house with an OxyContin and I got high on opiates for the first time.
The first time I tried heroin.
And 6+ years later on December 7th, 2006 that I got on my knees and pleaded with God for help getting sober. I was hiding in a closet after a drug deal/robbery gone bad. I couldn’t imagine ever getting sober and the idea of living another day was too painful.
But God shows up when God shows up.
That prayer and the decision to get sober was almost 20 years ago. It has been the most impactful date of my entire life.
Since then I’ve experienced so many blessings, won a lot, made a lot of mistakes, and I’ve had a lot of hard times too.
But it’s been a life well lived. I’m grateful to be able to experience all of it.
One thing I know that is true..
Sobriety is a super power.
You can give up everything for one thing.. or give up one thing and gain everything.
Love you guys

Lil Wayne is the first Black rapper to own a Bugatti, and at just 16 his net worth was already around $10 million. Bro had been making money from music since he was 11 years old. While most kids his age were still in school trying to figure life out, Wayne was already recording music, performing, and building a career in the rap industry.
He joined Cash Money Records as a child and quickly became one of the label’s biggest young stars. By his early teens, he was already appearing on songs, touring, and making serious money from album sales, shows, and features. Wayne grew up around successful rappers and businessmen like Birdman, which exposed him to wealth and the music business very early.
By the late 1990s, he was already living a lifestyle most artists don’t reach until much later in their careers luxury cars, jewelry, and millions from rap before even becoming an adult. His work ethic was crazy too; he was constantly in the studio recording music every day, which helped him stay relevant and keep earning at a young age.

the craziest part about Cham that nobody talks about is how he actually got into this world. he wasnt born into money or connected to silicon valley at all. he literally just started showing up to tech conferences in like 2008-2009 as a rapper and people thought he was joking. he met Mark Suster at one of these events and they clicked, Suster was building Maker Studios and Cham put in $1.5 million of his own rap money. when Disney bought Maker in 2014 for $500M (with performance bonuses up to $950M) his payout was reportedly over $20 million. thats a 13x return on one bet.
but heres what really separates him. he didnt just get lucky once and coast. he put money into Cruise Automation in 2013 when it was literally a startup nobody heard of. three years later GM buys it for over a billion dollars. then Ring before Amazon scooped it for another billion+. then Lyft before they IPO'd.
in 2015 Upfront Ventures made him their entrepreneur-in-residence which was the first time a rapper had ever held that position at a major VC firm. and instead of just stacking his own bag he started running pitch competitions with E-40 and Daymond John specifically for minority and women founders. gave $100k to a trucking startup called Fleeting that won his competition.
his net worth is estimated around $50 million now and honestly the music money is probably the smallest piece of that. dude said it best in an interview once, he said he walked around the music industry for years and saw alot of rich people but never saw wealthy. got into tech and sees wealthy every single day. thats a fundamentally different understanding of money than 99% of artists ever develop
