In his new job, Ball wants to revive some of Microsoft’s old popular game series such as Banjo-Kazooie, Viva Piñata, and Blue Dragon, since these classics still have fans and can generate money. He also wants to strengthen the Xbox console business and make it more profitable as the industry shifts toward subscriptions like Game Pass instead of single-game purchases. Ball believes Xbox can grow by focusing on these services and legacy series.
