@amateurgourmet my reaction to that is that it’s more lazy than scam-y. they should have given you two options for different pairings and then pointed them out on the list or highlighted the price difference.

Without naming the restaurant, I asked for a wine that’d go well with my entree and the waiter said “I’ve got the perfect thing.” It was good wine but when the bill came, it was $29, the most expensive wine by-the-glass by a huge margin. Scam? Or a thoughtful pairing?

We need to do away with the term “unskilled labor.” You hear people toss it around at everything from farm workers to servers to construction workers.
