PBS is putting out incredible docs about the lost cause of the confederacy and how the south operates today on YouTube. So so good.

Tia and Jasmin Criss, seniors at Cheyney University, the oldest historically Black university in the country, are less than two weeks away from graduating as valedictorian and salutatorian. Just three minutes older than Jasmine, Tia said the honors of being named class valedictorian and salutatorian "just happened." The twin sisters are graduates of Philadelphia High School for Girls. They credit their parents for giving them the discipline to aim high.

We joined the GrowHouse Youth Assembly to speak with the next generation of Black leaders about how we can build the New York City our communities deserve. We’re inspired by these scholars, their ideas, and the work they’re doing to protect Black presence in Black neighborhoods.

Quinta Brunson comments on what her past self would think of her now: “I think 2014 me would be like, ‘exactly, period’. Because I was a very determined, knew where I was going. Girl, I do not like to do that thing where people pretend like I had no idea. Like, this could happen to me? no. I made every single move in my life so that this could happen to me. Didn't exactly know this, but I think that's the beauty of vision. You can feel, see something, you're working in accordance with something, and I'm a big believer in that”. 🔗 instagram.com/reel/DSz7ZprjS…

@alisha_hg I also think people forget that losing a significant amount of weight typically…can make you look older than your age! Whether that happens at 20 or 30, it completely changes your face. Facial fat is what helps in maintaining a youthful, cherubic appearance!

@_kaycolee_ Oh! I didn't mean to say that was the primary cause in my original reply. I was saying that in addition to the weight loss, natural aging is also a factor.
