The COVID recovery saw firms mark up massively prices they charge consumers (black) over input prices (blue), with that happening in the US (lhs) and Euro zone (rhs). It looked like those mark-ups were abating until Russia invaded Ukraine. Now we're back to record mark-ups...

@PRoufos On this set of issues, I also find Eberhard Schmidt's Marburg School-inspired study of the unions' efforts to reorganize the economic constitution in the Western occupation zones & the FRG between 1945 and 1952 very instructive. There is a recent reprint: europaeischeverlagsanstalt.de/?p=3412
