Meet our guests, Christiana a korope(Danfo/bus) driver and Omolara, her conductor. From this intro alone, you can already tell we had a lot of fun on set! 😄 If you’ve ever been curious about what it’s like to be a female driver or bus conductor in a crazy city like Lagos, the challenges, or even why any woman would even choose this male-dominated space then you don’t want to miss tomorrow’s episode! We get into some dilemmas and also discuss women’s rights in light of some really disturbing stories that have been shared online lately . See you tomorrow!

Again, this is a factually incorrect narrative being repeated without understanding the data. Let’s start with the basics. The claim that a significant number of U.S. medical students remain unmatched is misleading. The majority of that ~7% ultimately secure positions through SOAP, so presenting them as “left out” is simply inaccurate. Let’s break down the numbers: Total U.S. MD and DO applicants (2026): 33,070 Total residency positions offered: 44,344 ➡️ That leaves: 44,344 – 33,070 = 11,274 MORE positions than U.S. applicants Now the obvious question: Who exactly is supposed to fill these 11,274 positions? Because if IMGs don’t fill them, the alternative isn’t “more U.S. graduates magically appearing”, it’s vacant positions and reduced patient care across already underserved systems. Let’s address the core claim: “IMGs are stealing residency spots” No. That is simply not how the system works. The small percentage of U.S. graduates who go unmatched is largely due to: Applying disproportionately to highly competitive specialties Choosing not to rank or pursue Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Pediatrics, etc That is a preference issue, not a “theft” issue. Now let’s examine the Pakistan claim: There is no credible source cited, and for good reason. Pakistan’s training system is not a single pool, it includes: FCPS MCPS MD / MS programs Multiple provincial and institutional pathways. Even a conservative estimate puts annual training positions well above 8,000–10,000, and total capacity far higher. Presenting incomplete or selective data without acknowledging this structure reflects lack of understanding, not insight. About the “18% IMG” argument: Yes, IMGs filled ~18% of positions. But here’s what was conveniently omitted: ➡️ That 18% represents IMGs from the entire world, not one country. Total matched positions ~43,000 Pakistani physicians ≈ ~1,000 positions ➡️ That’s roughly 2–2.5% of total positions So the narrative targeting one country is not just misleading, it is statistically indefensible. And one more point: Pakistan itself trains a large number of international graduates from countries like: China Ukraine Russia No one frames that as “stealing.” Bottom line: The U.S. has more residency positions than U.S. applicants IMGs are filling a workforce gap, not displacing anyone The data does not support a country-specific blame narrative At this point, repeatedly singling out one country despite clear global data raises a legitimate question: Is this about facts, or is it about bias?

Pakistan has about 5000 residency spots for about 20,000 applicants. How would you like it if Americans took 18% of those spots? In 2025, 18% of American residency positions were filled by foreign students.

I don’t think you guys get it lol. Many men believe you should never fight your fellow man over any woman. No matter who the woman is. It’s on this app we’ve seen men call married men simps for defending their WIVES against other men. The way they even say it with disdain. “You dey fight your fellow man because of ordinary woman ?” Sometimes, it doesn’t even matter who the woman is. That bro code comes first for many of them. Why are we all surprised?

It’s not even a shade but Men are really submissive to each other. A lot of male behavior is shaped by “what other men will think” and often enforcing what’s manly or not on each other. It’s also why a man will defend a random stranger that’s also a man they do not know.

With due respect, this is a clear misinterpretation of data. 𝗜𝗠𝗚𝘀 𝗱𝗶𝗱 𝗡𝗢𝗧 “𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗹” 𝘀𝗽𝗼𝘁𝘀 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗨.𝗦. 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗱𝘂𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀. King Edward’s ~150 matches are not from a single batch. These are spread across 5–6 graduating classes, as many IMGs apply years after graduation. Pakistan is among the top IMG contributors to the U.S., alongside the Caribbean and India. Similar trends exist with graduates from Mexico, the Philippines, and others. Now the reality: Visit community hospitals across NYC, Chicago, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Brookdale, BronxCare, Interfaith, Lincoln, and many more. You will find minimal to no U.S. graduates in specialties like: ✅ Internal Medicine ✅ Family Medicine ✅ Pediatrics These are essential, underserved settings. If IMGs don’t step in, millions of patients lose access to care. As for IMGs in competitive specialties: They are exceptional candidates, MD/PhDs, strong research backgrounds, top scores. They earn those positions on merit. Let’s be clear: This is not about “taking spots.” This is about filling critical gaps in the healthcare system. Stop misrepresenting the data. #Match2026 #MedTwitter #MedEd #Matchday #USMLE #SOAP2026

150 medical students from a single school in Pakistan just took residency spots from US medical students.
