just released pest v4.6.0 with time-balanced sharding this was a long-time request from the @laravelphp cloud team; with around 15,000 tests, browser tests and other slow ones need to be spread evenly across all shards fucking dope

ClaudeCode has this tendancy to spawn a lot of bash scripts. I just made php artisan app:kill and finally I have a way to unfreeze my system instantly.

@aarondfrancis Running HTop or the equivalent shows each Cursor instance is about 500mb, each ClaudeCode is about 500mb, and they all add up

@aarondfrancis Worktrees are just branches git knows about so you can spin up and tear down full environments via code. I use artisan git:worktree-add to get composer, npm, fresh DB, Herd SSL in one shot. Feels like something Solo could own natively - per-worktree process tabs would be 🤌

Why do people like git worktrees over discrete checkouts? (This isn't bait, it's research)

@aarondfrancis HOWEVER - memory usage, running big test suites, they're annoying. But less issues than running multiple on the same tree, that always ends in disaster

@PovilasKorop Courses should be markdown files. Or at the very least, transcripts that can be copied along with GitHub repo examples. Then iterating on code has a near zero feedback loop.

When Laravel 13 is out, I'll reshoot most courses on Laravel Daily. But maybe time to rethink how courses even LOOK. In 2026, devs will ask AI instead of watching 1-hour (or, even worse, longer) course. So should courses be almost like a set of YouTube shorts? Still not sure.

@calebporzio Interesting, I tried yesterday for a couple hours but blaze doesn't seem to work with nested Livewire components. Eg a 50 product cards each with a Save and AddToCalendar component. I will try again once I see some more examples

@taylorotwell Nice! I was asking for this at Laracon AU, wicked. Next request is capturing frontend errors, much harder (filtering pain), but arguably more consequential (broken UX vs true server errors).

Built an awesome Laravel logger using SQLite (portable & doesn't touch production DB), fingerprint dedups at write time, handles JS / CSP / PHP / Slow Queries, and has a Filament page to review / ignore / resolve. VERY useful with LLMs. Dispatched as jobs for speed.

@_mauricek @freekmurze I think it services as a wrapper (one syntax for all) around existing solutions that we have tried, Browsershot/Puppeteer, Gotenberg and so on.

@freekmurze @i_mansoorkhan I wonder if it beats SnapPDF in terms of speed? Having chrome binary is no issue for me owning my own server. Surely own hardware > dependency. I will benchmark out of interest

⚡ The new Cloudflare driver is exciting — no Node.js, no Chrome binary, no Docker. This is perfect for environments like Laravel Cloud, where you cannot easily add the Chrome binary.

Even building with AI, when you're 90% done you're only halfway finished! Some things never change.

Want to give ClaudeCode access to useful GSheets? Publish to the web as CSV, store URL in .ENV, then just make command to fetch.

Woke up thinking for the last few decades we've been washing clothes with a wash board, and now we finally have a washing machine.

@jeffrey_way I keep a Commands agent terminal open, and maintain this CC README. I update commands a dozen+ times a day. Explain your specific problem, and have it meta-prompt create you a solution. Experiment, refine, it's incredible.

One AI quirk that I still personally have trouble with... AI is good at "Here is the problem spot, let me apply a fix to deal with that issue." AI is not so good at "Let's just change such-and-such so that was never an issue in the first place."

Livewire 4 is FINALLY HERE ⚡⚡⚡ It's insane to me what can be achieved without writing a single line of JavaScript. We did it ❤️

If you use Claude Code, which model do you typically use? Context: I'm discovering that Sonnet needs much more hand-holding and much more detailed guidelines than Opus. So not sure if I need to recommend to people to improve guidelines or... just use (more expensive) Opus.

@calebporzio @i_mansoorkhan Very excited for 2026 as I'm sure you are! I'm launching a massive Google Calendar style planner/printer and a Figma/Canva design tool over the next few weeks, all Livewire at their core 💪
