Apple just released new programming language „Pickle” pkl-lang.org

Vision Pro is cool and all, but have you ever spent time searching for that format error in your YAML file? Apple just open sourced their new type-safe configuration language Pkl. Define once, and safely render into many formats!

@ProTheBrandon @javirevillas One can always contribute! But the main premise of Pkl is to define configuration in a type-safe manner, and render into a file in a format of your choice. Then, read that file with the language you use.

I’m not sure about alternative platforms. Mastodon looks good, and right now it’s pretty exciting as well, but it’s going to be hard to solve all UX issues.

No. This is false. I helped to create two different billion-user projects at Apple: WebKit and iPhone. I was on these teams from the earliest stages and I never once came close to sleeping at the office. It’s not an essential part of doing great work.
