Fledgling time 😍

@TheBrewLady1 They are soooo cute! do they make sounds, or are they quiet creatures?

4 last night. Weird Lil Guy has returned feisty!

We had at least two blue tit chicks fledged this morning. Without hours, a neighbour’s cat killed/ate them. Devastated parents still keep calling. 😭 When we noticed the hiding cat in the garden, it was too late.

Babies getting bigger again and more active!

@NicolaSyms We had that once. the weakest one was pushed out of the nest. and everytime it tried to crawl back in the mother would block it. It eventually died and the parents had to take it out. 🥺

@_missChicago_ We had 7 chicks til a couple of days ago and yesterday we had to watch the parents struggle to get a dead chick out of the nest box, they eventually managed but it was very sad to watch 😢 Just hope these 5 make it!

Lots of exploring

@NicolaSyms We used to always have the Alpha (big one) who is first ready to fly out. The weaker/small ones stay longer and sometimes don’t make it out (so heartbreaking to see that, if it happens).

@_missChicago_ Yes. There are two that are definitely climbing about and exploring more, one of which is the biggest. Two others that are active but not clambering. One that is quiet and only seems to show its face for food - but still seems to be doing ok.

Mummy blue tit seems to be encouraging them to stand up and explore outside the nest!

Unfortunately I think we only have 5 baby blue tits remaining - but look how they’ve grown! Look at those open eyes and lovely yellow feathers and how they are trying to climb out!
