In 2021, Mangaluru police arrested him for pro-ISIS and anti-Hindu graffiti on a police station wall; he was granted bail. After release, he trained two associates to make IEDs; they later carried out trial blasts in Shivamogga in Sept 2022 and were arrested, while he escaped. In 2024, individuals from his module, trained by him, were involved in the Rameshwaram Café blast. A terrorist can't change. Such individuals should either remain in prison, preferably in long-term solitary confinement, or face capital punishment, not a 10-year sentence. Release him, and he won’t start fresh, he’ll pick up exactly where he left off, with the same intent, the same methods, but with far greater caution and planning.
