Today, I lost my @FundedNext account, and to be honest with you guys, it hurts. 😣😔 The painful part is that it was completely avoidable. It was 100% my fault. I had three lectures today (09:00–11:00, 11:00–13:00, and 14:00–16:00), so I was busy with school. During the break, I rushed into a trade without checking the Forex Factory calendar. I only risked 1% on the trade. Then the CPI news was released. The slippage was so severe that my 1% risk turned into a 9% loss, instantly breaching the account. MISTAKE: I failed to check the news calendar before trading. CONSEQUENCE: Account breached due to news slippage. LESSON: Risk management alone isn't enough. If you ignore high-impact news, slippage can destroy everything in seconds. This one hurts, but I'll take full responsibility. Opposing Candles During an intraday expansion, anticipate price to respect opposing close candles as it moves toward its objective. To define opposing close candles: • If there is a series of opposing close candles, use the opening price of the first candle in the series. Series of down close candles: use the opening price of the highest down close candle. Series of up close candles: use the opening price of the lowest up close candle. • Ignore opposing close candles that are within a larger series of opposing close candles. Down close candles within a larger down close series: focus on the larger series. Up close candles within a larger up close series: focus on the larger series. Opposing close candles should be supported by one of three points of interest: • Highs & Lows • Fair Value Gaps (FVGs) • Opposing Close Candles Any opposing close candle that is not paired with one of these points of interest should be ignored. Confirmation: • Highs & Lows: Once either a high or low is swept, a closure through a series of opposing candles provides confirmation. • SMT: Opposing close candles on the failure swing are used when an SMT is present. • Fair Value Gaps: Once price trades into a Fair Value Gap, a closure through a series of opposing candles provides confirmation.
