unpopular opinion: 16GB is plenty if software engineers actually cared about memory efficiency. chrome eating 4GB for 12 tabs is not a hardware problem its a software disgrace. docker consuming 2GB idle is not a feature its laziness. we live in an era where people optimize every single token to save $0.001 on API costs but happily ship electron apps that eat 500MB to display a todo list. if the industry treated RAM the way we treat inference compute - obsessively measuring every byte - 16GB would feel luxurious. the hardware isnt the problem, the software is @adxtyahq
aditya@adxtyahq

never buy a 16GB RAM laptop in 2026. you’ll regret it within a week

If you convince Enrique to join, I’ll be tempted. But right now I don’t see a single name ahead of a Manager that has hit the ground running. Michael Carrick if he delivers UCL should be one of the first names on that short list. If he delivers 3rd, he should be the only name.

Carrick’s last 5 games, including today: 3 wins, 1 loss, 1 draw 8 goals for, 4 against In that time, he equaled the third longest unbeaten run for a new manager in English football, and picked up his manager of the month award. All with a team that finished 15th last season, and took a year to win back-to-back games under one of the so-called most exciting managers in Europe. That’s to say nothing about him beating the teams in 1st, 2nd, and 4th— while taking us up to 3rd. If someone takes issue with his tenure so far, it says more about them, than him.

@UtdDefence Press conference with a beautiful background and you know it's the same stature of manager as amorim, a bare avg manager doesn't do so many press confs

— He is exposing Spurs daily — calling out the club in interviews — He treats “ spoilt” players like shit — Very honest in press conferences — Only thing he is unable to do is get results. As per logic of many in our fanbase,he is the perfect candidate for the United job.

I watched the Newcastle vs Barcelona CL game on Tuesday night. I obviously also watched them when they embarassed us in the 2-1 loss last week. So it sparked a question in my mind. Between Newcastle and Manchester United, who has a much better project that will yield more sustainable results in the next 2 to 3 years. I think Newcastle does. 1. They have a single manager whos been there for the last 5 years or so in Eddie Howe. When they buy players, they buy for one manager. MUFC have sacked 5 managers in the last 5 years. Every single one of them have a different style of play. We keep buying players for managers vs for a set style of play. New manager comes in and demand different players and getting rid of the old ones and we keep obliging. Ineos has not fixed this problem. It started under the Glazers. It is a key indicator of lack of football direction from the club. 2. All of Newcastles players are under 25 in the last 2 games barring maybe Tonali, Burn and their captain. All young but highly experienced. All suited to a very high intensity, athletic footballing style that Newcastle plays. All bought for a set formation. MUFC dont have that. We're still relying on a combination of over 26, under 22's, athletic or physically imposing or technical players or whatever is available in the market. Its a mixed bag of everything and nothing. This season we're relying on players that will potentially not be here next season in Bruno, Maguire, Luke Shaw, Casemiro. That is the core of our starting 11. That means we will have to start a new project altogether next season to build new relationships on the pitch. 3. Newcastle will not be in Europe next season. Its clear that they're suffering from having too many games this season. Without European football next season, they easily go for a top 3 finish imo. I am not sure I can say the same about MUFC. Lots of uknowns for my club atm. Dont know who the manager will be. Which signings we will make and how long they will take to adapt to the team. Impact of removing all the senior core of the team next season. Who will run our recruitment. 4. I dont know about others but it just seems like every player that goes to Newcastle gets improved technically. Coaching is really good there. You look at their players and think we can use a few of them. Yoro, Aiden, Mainoo, Amad are still exactly the same players they were 2 or 3 years ago. You'd argue all that they are now is exactly what they came with into this club. We've not made them better players. That could be because we keep chopping and changing managers and styles of play, but also because of the pressure we're in as a club. We need to get results today. Eddie Howe is a mellow manager. I dont like his press conferences, but if the choice is between him and Michael Carrick, I am taking Eddie Howe all day long. Also, our next manager need to be given 3 years at the helm. Regardless of the results. See a project out for once. History proves that if you do that, you begin to reap the rewards for it on the pitch.

If Enrique or Nagelsmann took over after Amorim, won 6 of their first 8 and pushed United up to 3rd, the first loss would bring talk about faults in the squad, not outrage. But because it’s Carrick, suddenly he’s expected to win every game and play perfect football just within weeks of being in charge. Truly a prophet is not respected in his hometown

Not having Mbeumo slander. Top scorer, killer mentality, HUGE moments. It’s not his fault he’s being misused on the touch-line Don’t care if he played RW for Brentford. This is a different level. He’s not a winger at this level Griezmann didn’t have pausa or much dribbling in his bag, so needed to transition from a mid-table winger (Sociedad) infield when signing for Atleti. The best SS this generation was born. Only way he could scale to a European level Mbeumo is somewhere between Griez (has a tidy but relatively basic associative game + a lack of 1v1/dribbling) and Vardy (rapid, intense, always on the shoulder, anticipates everything) He’s so obviously a CF/SS at a Man Utd level club, or an in-darting winger like Sterling was for Pep. But Sterling could cook people easily when standing up or isolating FBs, so gave City more solutions. Which is why Mbeumo is even less suited to that. Needs to be closer to goal He can play WITH Sesko, but you need to lay it out way more balanced than it is. I’d be interested to see him off the left, going inwards, as a runner/volume shooter (drills across goal), with Amad as the 1v1 width holder + dribbling outlet from the right But no more tarnishing his rep by playing him widest of all. It’s an injustice to him

Playing Mbeumo as the widest of all with Amad on the bench is the equivalent of Ranieri having Mahrez on the bench and asking Vardy to stay on the byline It’s min 70 and he STILL hasn’t changed it
