I’ve also been reading about growth mindset for post grad course & this has been the shift, I think: reframing unexpected events as opportunities, leaning into personal strengths like genuine communication & accessing supportive resources facilitated intentional work to continue

I’ve been reading about intentionality & thinking about how closely it aligns with occupational therapy in terms of goal-setting & aligned actions. I also think we need OT to support adapting intentionality depending on circle of control/enviro & health/performance for wellbeing

Motivation for this reading comes from a personal space of having to adapt a lot this year due to disability. I work well in planned goal alignment. When the challenge increased, I had to think creatively to continue to work intentionally. Different OT skills supported wellbeing

So amongst the unhelpful online content, it’s good to see that there has also been (and will continue to be in force) efforts to build access to inclusion & diversity opportunities. I’ve had my own negative experiences as a disabled person & for me, a supportive community matters

I’ve not been on X recently because the heightened racism during the riots made this space feel divisive & extremist rather than a place for discussion to find mutual understanding/solution. Racism & bullying worse than any exclusion I have ever faced. But seeking to understand:

Thank you to everyone who attended the first @WeAreLSCFT Learning Disability and Autism in Mental Health conference today. I was completely blown away by over a hundred staff attending and all showing such passion to improve the lives of our service users, carers and staff ❤️ I was honoured to be able to share my own personal journey, albeit one of the hardest things I have ever had to do in my career to date 🥹 Massive thank you to all the speakers today. You were all absolutely amazing and so inspiring! 💪🫶🏼 I’d personally like to thank @chrisupton888 and @KenifordL for making today possible and helping bring our vision to reality, you are both wonderful humans💙❤️ Finally, thank you to @ChrisOliverNHS @Bex2079 @GoalsOlivers @Amyd29091 for the senior leadership around this work stream and for your ongoing support 💯🙏 I am excited for the future and continuing to work towards improving the lives of people with a learning disability and autism who access our services 🙏🤞🌍💪
