As someone who attended the connect x last year, it sure as hell had the most expectation bcs it’s been awhile for mbb to see mx as a whole group due to their military enlistments. Hence more people were present at that time, given it’s their 10th year anniversary as well. Moreover connect x felt more intimate bcs they’re not only singing and dancing, but also they shared a lot of stories, more talking sesh, and even reading the letters they wrote from years ago. So there’s so many touching moments to witness. I also attended nexus seoul, and needless to say it was one of the best concerts I’ve ever been to. I had no regrets and no disappointments bcs mx gave their best to provide extremely curated jaw-dropping performances. The setlist was perfect, their VCR were gold, the performances (especially the solo stages) were literally the best🫶🏼 So why the audiences dropped from connect x to nexus? My hot takes would be the economy, preferences, and scalpers. Not all people can afford to go to Seoul twice in the span of 7 months. Especially the foreigners and koreans who do not reside in seoul. Also some people perhaps prefer connect x’s “fancon” vibes over nexus’ “concert” vibes. I talked to some monbebes (koreans and foreigners) who attended nexus seoul and some of them are young and had to work part time just to get the concert ticket. Some of them do not live in Seoul and had to spend more money on bus/train/airplane ticket and hotel/accommodation. Even some of my friends who attended connect x but couldn’t attend nexus had various reasons not to go such as winter season, bad timing, money allocations, and other priorities. Hence I think some people would’ve been to think twice to go to nexus seoul if they already attended connect x which totally understandable🥹 Oh another thing to add is that so many scalpers during the ticketing war for nexus seoul and they made it almost sold out. But those scalpers released the tickets last minute to the system bcs their overpriced tickets were not getting sold until the concert day. This situation perhaps what caused starship/management to do an on-site sale on concert day. Imagine if those scalpers did not get the tickets in the first place, more monbebes would prolly secure the tickets and decide to come. Even I only got Day 1 & Day 3 tickets during the ticketing war and I managed to get Day 2 ticket from the on-site ticket sale booth at the venue. I hope starship is gonna do something about the ticketing system to prevent scalpers getting the tickets😭 Both connect x and nexus were amazing ngl. It doesn’t matter how many monbebe were there to watch mx concert, mx always perform with endless sincerity, incomparable energy, and big fat warmth🤍
