Despite being the best name in his field of Arthropodology, no one wanted to work with Dr. Daniel Lorenzo due to his alcohol addiction and propensity for violence. Following his divorce from his wife, Dr. Lorenzo became completely reclusive, focusing all his attention on spiders and alcohol. Spending almost no time outside the laboratory, the doctor had focused on a single species: the "Latrodectus" from the "Theridiidae" family, commonly known as the Black Widow. The doctor's primary goal was for the spider to reproduce without the need for a mate. To achieve this, he had taken genetic samples from the "Varanus Komodoensis" species. Additionally, he was working on the hardening of the spider's abdominal tissue and increasing the overall mass of the spider. However, despite the test results showing everything as desired, the born offspring were both smaller than normal and had small, soft abdomens. Dr. Lorenzo's excessive alcohol consumption had led to him losing control of his anger, resulting in him destroying the entire laboratory. All the test tubes, samples, results, and terrariums were shattered; all the research had been undone. Taking another sip from the bottle in his hand, the doctor collapsed to the ground and passed out. A fledgling Black Widow, escaping from one of the broken terrariums, had entered the doctor's ear and begun to feed. Once it had grown rapidly with the right nutrients, the young spider had a new, stronger abdominal shell. Yes, Dr. Lorenzo's dream had come true; the offspring now had a larger and more robust abdomen, and they could reproduce alone. They adapted to use the skull of the human they killed as their abdominal shell. Yes, they could merge bone with their bodies. The newborn offspring had begun to spread to nearby homes at night and enter sleeping people, killing them. As they came suddenly at night, and their nature was initially unknown, the public had dubbed them "Boogey".
