and of course, cervical cancer is worse. 1000%. which is why it's so sad and so horrifying that so many women are afraid to take the steps to prevent it. because our healthcare system is SO fucked that we rather get cancer and die than face the pain and trauma that comes-

also like just gynecological health care in general can be so traumatizing. i won't go into it for personal reasons but i landed in the ER twice needing a surgical procedure for related reasons. it's humiliating and horrifying. the pain is so bad. and some of these doctors..

hi, medical and women's historian here: women's fear of pap smears, as well as their fear of vaginal exams, is beyond reasonable. gynecology has been rife with misogyny for centuries, the "father of modern gynecology" practiced on slaves w/o anesthesia. don't ridicule other women

out of all the celebrity memoirs there are, i 10000% recommend reading 'im glad my mom died' by jennette. like genuinely, as a girly with mommy problems, it was validating to read.

esp for kids in school. do you know how much it blows to be the only kid in your class to not have a mom when everyone is doing mother's day arts and crafts? are you guys going to get mad at the kids who make their dad gifts instead? idk man. ppl r getting too worked up over this

it makes mother's day painful because you can get stuck in a loop of 'what could have been'. it's way healthier to at least think about all the 'mom' (stereotypical, i know) things your dad did for you on mother's day rather than spiral.

i can understand why people are upset about a dad being included on this graphic, but it's so clear that some of yall are lucky and privileged enough to have a good mom in your life. mother's day is super hard when you don't have a mom/or your mom was toxic/abusive.
