Now that the dust has settled, it's clear the school bears serious responsibility. There is no doubt that it failed Amaira.
But some questions regarding her parents continues to trouble me. If your child was being bullied for 18 months an entire academic year and more and you knew about it, why wasn't stronger intervention taken?
If the bullying continued for over 6 months, why wasn't she moved to another school?
If she was showing signs of mental distress, why wasn't she immediately taken to a child psychologist or psychiatrist for professional help?
As difficult as it is to say, Amaira appears to have been failed on multiple fronts. She needed timely intervention, protection and mental health support.
This tragedy is also a reminder that mental health awareness in India, especially among parents, schools and even institutions, remains alarmingly poor. That has to change.

my weirdest conspiracy theory is that the global ethanol push is far more coordinated than people realize.
the US is pushing e15. brazil has been aggressively expanding e27. india has already committed to e20 & is talking about going higher. much of southeast asia is moving toward e20. many latin american countries are already at e30. even europe continues to expand ethanol blending mandates.
somehow countries with completely different politics, economies and energy priorities all arrived at the same conclusion which was to push for a fuel that's anti-vehicle, kills the engines of your cars and eats away its rubbers.
on one hand this looks like a global movement being driven by big biofuel, which ironically also has every leading oil name invested in it. on the other it also looks like a movement to take away your autonomy

Doing some post-trip research for clarity and it just hit me that this area that I observed very well from the Metro (old roofs, gantry cranes with overgrown weed, visible tracks) was indeed Jessop Dum Dum Works. The Yellow Line passes through what was once a HUGE industrial complex for railway rolling stock and wagons. It boils my blood knowing such a pinnacle of engineering was squandered by the commies and the socialists. Even Ruia couldn't tow the line with these leeches. We had the technology, we had the ability, we had literally everything lined up for a better future but instead we shot the capitalists. Paraded them naked in the streets. Seeing the ruins, and the old city, it is very safe to draw political parallels here. Ambani-Adani-Sensex100 are doing GODS work. (serious suggestion: if you're ever black-pilled about BJP, visit Kolkata once, akkal khud thikane aa jayegi)

Itne din se I am not able to finalise the purchase of a table for work + chair + monitor for myself because anything good is insanely expensive like table is 8-10k, chair is 6k and monitors are like 10k again 😭. There is no way a fresher with education loan can afford these 🥲.
