Here lies Firedorn, a hero in bed, He once was alive, but now he's dead, The last woman he bedded, turned out a man, And crying in shame, off a cliff he ran

@MizoChris And you optimise the shit out of the thing so that'll it'll run on potato hardware of the people who couldn't afford the console, too, and so they'll get real anxious to play your new one

@MizoChris Then you let the modders loose on the previous version which encourages people to double dip if they already bought the old one on console

HOT TAKE🔥 A lot of PC gamers genuinely don’t care about PlayStation games coming to PC anymore PlayStation does not optimize their games well with PC And to top that, because PC already has an INSANE amount of options: • Steam library backlog • Mods • Emulation • Indie games • MMOs • Strategy games • Early Access • Multiplayer communities • Xbox titles • PC exclusives PC gamers are not starving for content. many PC gamers care more about: • optimization • modding • frame rates • ultrawide • community servers • price than cinematic exclusives. PC gaming’s biggest strength was never exclusives, It was freedom and variety.

@ash_twtz because most of those companies depend on proprietary software and their business model to a large extent depends on retaining control of their software.

If Linux is so secure, why don’t companies make developers use it by default?

So Oxford UK is to become a 15 minute city in August. Do people realise what a 15 minue City is?????? Do you realise they need a pass to leave it, even to go to work???? That they are fined if they go over the pass limit. They must have facial recognition cameras everywhere!!!!! Anyone on here from Oxford?????

@DreamLeaf5 Resonance for bass I think. At least, it's usually part of the subwoofer in a 5.1 set

@Bigfootspal @TIMBO_SL1CE No law that I'm aware of. Modern windows are designed with two ways to open. One lets them open a slit, the other is "full on door"

@TIMBO_SL1CE They have a law, I believe, that only let's them open a window 4 inches. Imagine the change it would take to let everyone have ac. Woof.

@TIMBO_SL1CE We're not smug. You just don't appreciate how much of the year it's not only not necessary but would actively be a pain in the arse.

@glunkinator pretty sure any business that provides servers is fucked. Even if they don't use Linux, every other provider gets to at least double it's prices overnight

@glunkinator I thought It was pretty good, but i jumped to 64bit. If i was going to have driver issues anyway i figured it'd be better to have 64 bit driver issues if they were inevitable anyway and get it out of the way now.

Science fiction nerds are gonna hate me for saying this but the Great Filter is that interstellar travel is probably more or less impossible and there is no reason to come up with any other explanation for that.

@xahmol @AmigamagazineGA I'll be honest I didn't interact with it much. Just mostly when old floppies had it installed. My first Amiga was the 600 and my first Workbench 2.04, I want to say. Was a fucking revelation coming from a ZX Spectrum.
