Interestingly, cannot download my own policy from the official portal. While cannot confirm this is apparently to discourage porting of policy close to renewal period. I just wanted to have a copy

Compiling large projects with little to none documentation and outdated patches start with a minor heart attack , followed by lots of hair pulling, lot of self doubt and praying to unknown Gods. But when you see those build targets at the end of your nightmare, you feel the sort of happiness that can rarely be brought by a mortal and you feel like compilation Demi God. I’m seeing this weird network connectivity issue on iOS 18 where NWConnection fails randomly to establish a local connection even when all network interfaces are running. Not sure if it’s specific to iOS 18 since I currently don’t have another physical device to test on. The issue is most prominent when the user installs the app for the first time and is prompted for the local area network access permission. Even when the user clicks “Allow”, connections seem to be blocked 🚫 It *usually* seems to work when I delete and reinstall the app. Anybody else with this issue?

@streamieapp One issue with this though is that there is a lag when the user switches screen as the stream has to be restarted. What I’m trying right now is to see if it’s possible to work only with the high res stream and downscale it where high res is not needed.

@_raktimbora I'm guessing that you keep the lower res stream going in the grid and then start a new high res stream on top? Or do you shut down the lower res streams when they're invisible?

A camera installer wants Streamie to switch to a high-res stream when switching from a grid view to full screen. I'm trying to find an intuitive way to accomplish this. I don't want to create a giant code mess.

Well, while I wait on the slow parts of the tvOS build process for WebRTC, I'll knock out some cold calls. Can I get twenty done today? That would be amazing.

I am so interested in finding excuses not to do cold calls that I decided to try to update WebRTC. I got the iOS build done and noticed new streaming issues with Google Nest. I found that it is changing encoding parameters mid-stream. I had to add some special handling to account for this, including recreating the CMVideoFormatDescription when displaying decoded frames when the image dimensions change. I wonder if this'll resolve the long-standing WebRTC crash that's been haunting me for ages.

There is probably one word to sum it up which is “obsession”. Be obsessed with what you do and you can outthink, put pure effort, see opportunities, be consistent and razor focused.
