I do not understand America where new mothers aren't guaranteed mat leave. Read on how puppies aren't allowed to be serperated from their mother's for 8 weeks. But a human parent in America? You gave birth yesterday? Get into the office early to make up time.

Not having to think about or go to work is great. High recommend. Ok, I have to keep a human baby alive, but not working is so freeing.

@TwonRue I once worked at a drug probation order office and remember a client vehemently denying smoking weed and the smell of it. Then he turned to me after they left and said he didn't understand how they knew because "I smoked it outside". He thought that meant no smell was possible

Pretty sure half of parenting is sussing out how to eat in odd positions so as not to wake the sleeping baby. And the other half is wishing you had a catheter.

Nextdoor neighbour popped round to say she'll bring over dinner tomorrow if we wanted. Husband and I both assumed the other had told her that we had a premature newborn in hospital. Nope. She had no idea and just enjoys cooking for people

Tbf I had to get an injection which took a couple hours. But it's still been 7+ hours since. I wouldn't mind if they were just blunt telling me that the doctors are really busy and it'll be a while. Instead I had all day of "not long to go... Doctors are coming down" etc

11+ hours from "we're getting your discharge papers sorted" to actually being discharged from hospital 😑🤦‍♀️
