Yesterday, I questioned the Safeguarding Minister Jess Phillips and Home Office officials on the national grooming gangs inquiry. I focused on three key questions: 1. Why did the Home Office fail to instruct agencies across the country to preserve grooming gang records? 2. Why has the Government already announced Oldham as a key location for the Inquiry - but not Keighley and Bradford? 3. How much funding is being used for the inquiry - and is it is enough? I will continue to do all I can to demand a specific focus on Keighley and Bradford - and hold the government to account on their promises to victims and survivors across the UK. You can watch my questions below 👇

Neither Nigel Farage or Rob Jenrick voted against Keir Starmer tonight. When it actually mattered, when we actually have a chance to get rid of this dreadful PM, they were nowhere to be seen. Politics isn’t punditry - it’s turning up, doing the work and taking a side.

Tonight, Labour MPs voted to drag elderly British veterans back through the courts. Disgraceful. These veterans served their country with courage and honour. They should not be hounded decades later for doing their duty. Conservatives are fighting this every step of the way 🇬🇧

Huge privilege to be invited along to speak with the Ribblesdale Farmers Club, a group of dedicated individuals from our hardworking farming community based in Lancashire. The Conservatives will put food security at the heart of all government policy decisions - backed by all government departments. That starts with ensuring the Family Farm and Family Business Tax is scrapped in full and DEFRA is repositioned as an economic delivery enabler - with food security at its heart. Huge thanks to Roger Dugdale, the Hon Secretary of Ribblesdale Farmers Club for kindly inviting me along.

🦸‍♂️🦸‍♀️ Absolutely incredible people! This Sunday, it was a huge privilege to be invited along to present our local heroes with their incredibly well deserved Litter Free Awards, recognising their hugely valuable contribution to litter picking and helping keep our communities clean and tidy. Nine local Litter Free groups joined forces today for our Awards Ceremony kindly organised and hosted by Litter Free Ilkley to highlight the invaluable work undertaken by volunteers, groups and businesses to improve our local environment through litter clearing, conservation and community engagement. Together, the groups cover Keighley, Silsden, Addingham, Ilkley, Denton, Burley in Wharfedale, Menston, Guiseley and Baildon. Over the last year these groups have collected a whopping 7,372 bags of litter and over 1,400 nitrous oxide canisters, as well as reporting flytipping and other waste and litter issues. Our heroes go above and beyond, and today’s Awards Ceremony was held at Ilkley’s Bandstand following a mass litter pick session across Ilkley. I am ever indebted to Vivienne Boey and Abbey Vale from Litter Free Ilkley for organising such a special and wonderful occasion, and to Thomas Black, for his exceptionally kind sponsorship. He is a true local hero. If you haven’t been along yet, I’d really encourage you to join the group’s next litter pick. It’s a fantastic way to get involved in the community, and you can really see the difference that’s being made. Congratulations to everyone on a successful second year, and here’s to many more to come! 🇬🇧🎉Real honour to attend Ilkley’s fantastic Armed Forces and Veterans Breakfast Club this morning to help celebrate their 4th anniversary!! The Ilkley Armed Forces & Veterans Breakfast Club is a brilliant initiative that gives armed forces personnel and veterans the chance to get together on a regular, monthly basis for a catch-up. They provide a vital support network for our veterans, and their work truly reflects the dedication our veterans have both to their comrades and our wider community. I can’t believe it has been four years since the very first meeting took place at Ilkley’s Wetherspoons - I remember it well! It was really great to spend the morning chatting with many veterans, including David Jowett, Fred Gaunt and many, many others over breakfast and hearing their incredible stories about life in the armed forces. I want to give a huge shout out to all the organisers who have been involved in organising every single meeting over the last four years - you have all been incredible - including Mark Sugrue who continues to go above and beyond. Also a huge congratulations to our very own Chris North who won the veteran category at the national Royal Navy Photography Awards - a brilliant achievement! We are forever indebted to our veterans, their families, and all who serve. Our veterans and armed services personnel will always have my full support. Happy 4th anniversary to our Breakfast Club! 🤩

Infected Blood Scandal At Treloar’s School, vulnerable school pupils were used as guinea pigs and forced to inject themselves with blood taken in secret trials. They were unwittingly infected with HIV and Hepatitis. Over 75 pupils died, despite those in charge knowing the risks. In Parliament, it was welcome to see that more compensation is set to be paid to victims of the infected blood scandal. But we also need to see criminal charges against those involved in experimenting on our children…

From beef to whisky, Scotland produces some of the finest products on our shelves – I was delighted to sample some whilst campaigning in Aberdeenshire with @AndrewBowie_MP and @HarrietCross_MP. For too long, the SNP and Labour have treated rural Scotland like an afterthought. Only the @ScotTories have a plan to back our farmers, crofters and food & drink producers.

Labour have spent months telling me that banning phones in schools was an unnecessary gimmick. A week ago an education minister said Labour had “solved the problem of phones in schools.” We did not give up the fight & I’m glad they have finally listened & u-turned.

The evidence from Olly Robbins is devastating to Keir Starmer. It is clear that No10 not only made the appointment before vetting was completed, but that Mandelson was already acting as the Ambassador before the vetting - even seeing highly classified documents. With this, and the 'constant pressure' No10 applied to the appointment and their 'dismissive attitude' to vetting Mandelson, it is now absolutely clear that 'full due process' was not followed. Keir Starmer has misled the House.

🚨TODAY at 14:30 I have secured a parliamentary debate entitled ‘Windfarm development on protected peatland’ I will be putting forward my opposition to the Calderdale Energy Park, which threatens our local heritage and over 2,000 hectares protected peatland - which is a crucial carbon store. I have written to all local MPs in our area including neighbouring Labour MP’s; Josh Fenton-Glynn MP for Calder Valley Anna Dixon MP for Shipley Kate Dearden MP for Halifax Johnathan Hinder MP for Pendle Oliver Ryan MP for Burnley ….urging them to attend and put a united cross-party voice forward that we jointly oppose the wind farm development in the Brontë Country. I will continue to fight against this disastrous scheme which will be devastating for our protected peatland and our heritage landscape.

🚨The future of Brontë country is at stake. I have now secured a parliamentary debate to put forward our opposition to the Calderdale Energy Park, which threatens our local heritage and over 2,000 hectares protected peatland - a crucial carbon store. It will take place Tuesday (21 April) at 2:30pm and means we will be able to strongly put our points of view across to government ministers, in demanding that they oppose this scheme. This is a crucial step forward in the campaign. I have written to all local MPs in our area urging them to attend and put a united cross-party voice forward.

Great to be out and about on the doorsteps today with @kevinhollinrake. This May, all of your Bradford District Councillors are up for election. Our local Conservative team are constantly working hard for you. Day in, day out. All year round. Working with me, we put your priorities first. Always. You now have the chance to vote for them. Labour have been a disaster for our area. We all know it. Just in the last two years they have increased our Council Tax by 15%, closed our Tips and overseen a dramatic increase in pot holes and fly tipping. The Greens want to legalise all drugs, including crack cocaine and heroin - despite the hugely damaging impact drug use and drug crime has across the Bradford District. And Reform want to keep us in Bradford, not separate us so we can have our own Council. I need a team of grafters to work with me, to get things done and to ensure your voice is heard. I want us to have our own Council. A voice which puts Keighley, Ilkley, Silsden, the Worth Valley and our wider area, first, always. 👉 This May, vote Conservative to ensure you have a strong team working with me, for you. Constantly.

The Prime Minister appointed Peter Mandelson before the vetting had been completed, vetting Mandelson failed. Starmer then said full due process was followed. THAT is misleading Parliament. I'm only holding him to the same standards to which he’s held previous Prime Ministers - that if they mislead parliament, they should resign. In these dangerous times, Britain cannot afford to have a Prime Minister who the country doesn't trust. Starmer has betrayed our national security. He should go.
