Same situation as Oil McBurney when he smashed a fans phone, he got shit for it and rightly so.

@_rossferg @AnthonyRJoseph @calciatore Ok…. After the third goal, the celebrations began. Look at the time on the clock as the camera pans to dejected Hearts fans - 10 seconds before 98 minutes. The celebrations went on into the 98th minute, with the referee ending the match, reminiscent of Scotland vs Denmark 🤷♂️

UPDATE: Celtic boss Martin O’Neill hit back at the criticism of the club and the celebrations.
He told TalkSPORT there’s “a lot of hyperbole” about the confrontations to Hearts players and believes #HMFC’s statement that the aftermath embarrassed Scottish football is “nonsense”.

Celtic say there is "no justification" for the pitch invasion following their Scottish Premiership title win. The club have apologised to Hearts for the situation which prevented their team from "saluting their own supporters at the end of an enthralling campaign".

I'm not sure what sort of sanctions the SFA can take against the ref if he's made a mistake.

The ref did blow the whistle at the end of the game on Saturday. I am fed up with this anti Celtic rhetoric. The pitch "invasion", was a minority, not a majority. I saw LS go at a Celtic fan & others. Not on blaming just the Celtic fans. #Celtic HH 🍀

@Fitzy__07 A handshake is not the end of the game in the rules, there’s footage of the ref at the side of the pitch in the tunnel waiting to go back out, there was time left I don’t think enough to effect the result but fans can’t decide to end the game with a pitch invasion

SFA say the whistle was blown, but it's a moot point all in; there was no material impact to the result

Guaranteed if Hearts won the league at Tynecastle, there would also have been a pitch invasion which would be described as joyous, celebratory and a great end to a fantastic season.

When the footage is studied he will be seen grabbing a phone out of a fans hand and stamping on it - not condoning the fan being on the pitch but as always there’s two sides to every story
