President Tinubu Directs Ex-Governor Ayade to Step Down from 2027 Senate Race Former Governor of Cross River Senator Prof. Ben Ayade, has yielded to a directive from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to withdraw his ambition for the Cross River North Senatorial District seat in the 2027 general elections. In an emotional statement released on Monday, Ayade disclosed that he was recently invited to Abuja for a high-level national consultation with the Presidency. Following the meeting, it became evident that the President wanted him to shelve his senatorial bid. “I yield to his request even as I pour tears of ill treatment and agony,” Ayade said. Ayade Lists Contributions, Appeals for Review. The former governor, who served two terms as governor and was a senator before that, recounted his significant contributions to the growth of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the South-South region. He noted that he was the first APC governor in the South-South and played a foundational role in building the party’s structure in Cross River State. During the 2023 presidential election, he delivered nearly 40,000 votes above the PDP’s performance in the state a historic feat. Ayade also reminded President Tinubu of his early support, stating that he was the first APC governor to push for Tinubu to be given the right of first refusal as the party’s 2023 presidential candidate. He popularized the slogan: “If Tinubu Can Fix Lagos, Tinubu Can Fix Nigeria.” Despite these efforts, Ayade said he has been sidelined for over three years without any federal appointment. He is, however, currently running a free transportation scheme as part of his campaign support for the President’s expected 2027 re-election bid. He appealed to the President to revisit the order, arguing that his federal constituency has only enjoyed senatorial representation for eight years, while his main opponent has had 20 years. Granting the opponent another term, he said, would amount to a fourth term in the National Assembly.

Appeal to the Inspector General of Police and Fellow Nigerians Dear Inspector General of Police, My son stole a generator and ran away. I was arrested, and a huge amount of money was taken from me. Now, the same policeman has arrested my daughter and sworn that she must go to prison for at least 10 years. Please, I beg you to intervene and save my daughter. This is unfair. Thank you.

In Arandun, Kwara State, a 16-year-old girl, was locked up in a police station for three days, even though she had committed no crime. Her brother had stolen someone’s electric generator, and when the police could not find him, they arrested the innocent girl instead. Her family, neighbours, and community members gathered at the station to protest her detention. The police were told she was underage but showed no concern. No one knows what she went through during those three days in custody.

@zhurg_ @ajoke_oro @omoelerinjare Every state is expected to ave a Ministry of Social Dev/Women Affairs, & they should also ave social workers as well as juvenile remand homes/correctional centres. I’m sure Kwara State has one too. But are these centres truly serving the purpose they were created for? I can’t say

Sure-fire way: - Sleep early. - Wake up early in the last 3rd of the night - and beg Allah to aid you. - Go back to sleep. - Wake up for Fajr. - Recite Qur’an. - Drink a cup of Espresso. - Start the work and don’t have any meal until Dhuhr. Do this consistently for one full week (7 days). The flow state you’d be in would be crazy

I was 21. NYSC posting: a village clinic in Osun. No light. No water. Just me, a matron in her 60s, and women who walked 3 hours for antenatal. Day 1, a 16 year old girl came in bleeding and pregnant. Her 40-year old husband said, “It’s normal. First baby always hard.” Matron took one look at me and said, “Corper, you go learn today.” We had no ultrasound or blood bank. Just gloves, faith, and a torchlight I held with my mouth while Matron’s hands disappeared inside that child. For 6 hours we fought. The girl was slipping. Matron prayed in Igala and English. I cried, thinking, “This is why I wanted to japa.” 😂 Then the baby’s cry came; a small, angry boy, alive. The 14-year-old whispered, “Aunty, thank you for not running.” 😭 Covered in blood and sweat, Matron said: “You think this work na for money? This work na for the girls who don’t know their own worth yet. You stay. You fight. You stubborn. Because if we no stubborn, who go be stubborn for them?” That was 5 years ago. Today I’m a doctor in Lagos with a clinic in Abule Egba. Every girl who comes in with “normal period pain” that’s been killing her for years reminds me of that torchlight and Matron’s hands. I get stubborn. I’ve diagnosed 47 cases of advanced PID this year, done 12 fibroid surgeries, and caught 3 girls early before their wombs got damaged. Ladies, my message is simple: 1. “Normal” pain that stops your school, work, or life? It’s NOT normal. 2. Your body is not “village people.” It’s biology. Test it. Scan it. Know it. 3. Be stubborn about your health. The world will call you dramatic. Be dramatic and alive. That matron died 2 years ago, but her stubbornness lives in every girl I refuse to let die quietly.

My Refutation to Deji — The Neophyte Orientalist It is clear that Deji is operating with a very shallow understanding of both biology and the Arabic language. He thinks he has found a gotcha moment, however, he is just parroting tired arguments from online critics who do not understand the depth of the text they are attacking. Here is the verse in question (Surah At-Tariq 86:5-7): فَلْيَنظُرِ الْإِنسَانُ مِمَّ خُلِقَ . خُلِقَ مِن مَّاءٍ دَافِقٍ . يَخْرُجُ مِن بَيْنِ الصُّلْبِ وَالتَّرَائِبِ "So let man observe from what he was created. He was created from a fluid, ejected. Emerging from between the backbone and the ribs." Let me help Deji understand some of the simple things he doesn’t know. First of all, Deji claimed that "semen does not carry life" and that "life is from sperm, not semen". Therefore the Quran goofed. I say this is a desperate attempt at wordplay. In Arabic, the word used is maa’, which means fluid or water. To a 7th-century audience or even a modern person who is speaking naturally, the "fluid" is the medium that carries the biological components of life. So, claiming the Quran "goofed" because it refers to the fluid instead of naming the microscopic sperm cell is like saying a car didn't bring you home because the engine did. It is a distinction without a difference in a descriptive context. Secondly, He shouted about the "scrutom" (scrotum) being the place of production. Funnily, this is a high school level of understanding. As a researcher he claims to be, he knows that the origin of a system is more important than its final exit point. This is a fact no right thinking person would deny. Let me make the following points: 1. In human development, the gonads (testes or ovaries) originate in the abdomen, near the kidneys, specifically in the area between the spinal column (backbone) and the lower ribs. 2. Even in an adult man, the testicular artery, which provides the blood needed for the testes to function, branches off the aorta in that exact abdominal region. 3. In fact, the nerves that control these organs also originate from the same area between the backbone and the ribs. On the textual evidence of basic anatomy, Deji failed. He is looking at the end of the pipe and claiming the source of the water doesn't exist. The Quran is describing the physiological and developmental root of human creation, and not a snapshot of an adult male's anatomy. In fact, the verse he is trying to refute says so expressly. If Deji wants to appreciate the Quran, let him look at Suratul Al-Muminun. "And we placed him as a Nutfa (a mingled drop) in a place of settlement, firmly fixed. Then We made the drop into an Alaqa (clinging clot)..." (23:13-14). The term Nutfa refers to a "mingled drop" or a small quantity of fluid. It acknowledges that the fluid is a mixture. This contradicts Deji’s idea that the Quran only sees a single, simple substance. The Quran describes a process of stages, which aligns with modern embryological findings that every medical expert appreciates for its technical precision. Lastly, I know this is not Deji’s idea. He is probably following a historical pattern where critics try to force ancient scripture into the box of 21st-century laboratory jargon. If it doesn't sound like a medical textbook from the 2000s, they call it an error. Or, he is using AI to interpret the Quran. That would be a great mistake to make. Quran is more than that Deji. You should read more instead. You Goofed! Allah knows best.

For people who do not understand Arabic, this is what Dr. Sharofudeen said in the video: He starts by explaining that the middle, known as Al-Wasat, is the balanced point between two extremes. He says that any drift away from the straight and upright path is considered evil and blameworthy. True goodness lies in staying in the center of matters. Dr. Sharofudeen emphasizes that moderation, or Wasatiyyah, is one of the most prominent characteristics of Islam. The entire religion is built on this foundation of balance and fairness. It is a foundation that applies to every single detail and aspect of the faith. He mentions that Ahl al-Sunnah wal-Jama'ah represents the true middle ground among the seventy-three sects of the Muslim Ummah. While other groups might lean toward different extremes, this group stays on the balanced path. The moderation of this group comes from their firm grip on the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of the Prophet. He describes the Prophet as their infallible Imam. In their view, what is Halal is what Allah and His Messenger have allowed, and what is Haram is what Allah and His Messenger have prohibited. He concludes by saying that any statement or opinion that contradicts the Word of Allah or the teachings of the Prophet is rejected. It does not matter who said it or how high their status might be. If it goes against the primary sources of Islam, it is thrown out. May Allah preserve him upon goodness

For the first time yesterday, I witnessed a patient who recited the Shahada as his last statement. He simply said, 'La ilaha illallah, Muhammadur Rasulullah (SAW),' and breathed his last.Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un. Honestly, this incident touched me deeply and made me ask myself if I will be able to do the same when my time comes. May Allah grant us a good ending.

“The government of the Muslim-Muslim ticket has partnered with CAN to build a N25 billion church at the Abuja airport,” Alaramma Ismail Maiduguri declared in a viral video, reacting to Saturday’s groundbreaking of the ecumenical chapel and pilgrimage centre at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport. Quoting the Vanguard report, he said: “SGF George Akume and the Aviation Minister, Festus Keyamo, were the ones who laid the foundation for the construction. And it was Nyesom Wike who provided the land.” For the cleric, that amounts to discrimination. “This is injustice,” he said. “And we will not accept it unless we are given land and funds to build a mosque at the airport.” Calling out Muslim bodies, Alaramma asked: “Where is JNI? Where is MURIC, I know your efforts. Where are Izala, the Tariqa and the Muslim Lawyers’ Association? We are being treated unfairly in this country.” He tied the project to the Muslim-Muslim ticket, saying, “We have always said it, only under the name of the Muslim-Muslim ticket will we be left alone.” The scholar also linked the chapel to compensation politics. “Yesterday as well, he also gave compensation to the victims of Rukuba,” he said, before asking: “Where is the compensation for Muslims being killed in Borno, Sokoto, Zamfara, and Kebbi? Where is the neutrality expected of our leaders?” While insisting “we are not saying Christians should not be treated fairly; all of us Nigerians have equal rights,” Alaramma argued that equity demands parity: “We must be treated fairly; we should also be given land to build a mosque with that N25 billion — that is what justice means.” He added: “If it is about need, we need it even more because we are praying under a shelter. Even our Christian brothers and sisters go to church only on Sundays, but we Muslims pray five times every day.” He closed with a direct question to the President: “Is this how you expect Muslims to vote for you, Mr. President? We are not saying Christians should not be treated fairly; rather, what we want is that everyone's rights should be given equally. This is justice.”

Alex Crook believes Burnley are cheating the premier league system and should be given a promotional ban. Crook, the chief of football @talkSPORT says Burnley are deliberately gaming the system by getting relegated from the Premier League twice in a row. According to Crook, he believes Burnley are more about gaining financial support after getting promoted from the championship.
