Another issue is the age old passing of the buck. Is DoD to blame? The VA? DoL? In my view, TAP is irretrievably broken, and it needs to be reworked from the ground up. 4/4

Those conditions are necessary but not sufficient. Without these 2 things, TAP cannot work, and they are often absent. As @bkesling reports “commanders can prevent troops from attending classes by citing operational need for troops to remain with their unit.” 3/4

Every summer, I meet 100s of vets at @WSP_Vets academic boot camps. I often do a straw poll: 1st Q “How many of you went through TAP in the last 18 months?” Most put hands up. 2nd Q: “How many found it prepared you for the transition to college?” *Very* few hands stay up. 1/4

@BrockHBriggs @markbdelaney I love learning that you two recorded an episode together. While I was recording with Brock, I kept thinking, “man he should really connect with Mark.”

@markbdelaney Power of the handwritten note is unmatched. Glad you got yours, I’ve been suspect of USPS actually getting my mail out. Was a pleasure having you on Mark. We need to coordinate our episode releases.

Very nice touch from @BrockHBriggs Sending a handwritten note and swag as a thank you to podcast guests. I just got outdone. Need to step up my game and start doing this.

When boarding a plane for an exit row seat, I feel like the only honest answer to the question “are you willing and able to assist in the event of an emergency” is: “we’ll see.”

Snarkiness aside, these Delta employees are some of the nicest I’ve encountered. The lady at the gate did her level best to welcome everyone by name upon check-in (she even got “Pavel” right), and the whole flight crew is jovial and helpful.

Flying Delta for the first time in a while and cracking up at these boarding designations: “Now boarding uber elite cloud pass suite holders…now priority platinum sky people….now golden first class…now upper middle class…now the middle lower class…now any remaining plebs.”

I’ve been keeping a running band name list for many years and honestly this list is better than anything I could possibly come up with.

@JoelleMonique Your contributions on the mic of FDRF are a huge part of what takes this from a really good podcast to one of the best. And that’s to say nothing of your behind the scenes work.

@todoist @TanyaMAng @WSP_Vets runs on Todoist! I used it individually for years, and after a trial period we decided to embrace it across the org. Also, as a remote org, we’ve implemented many recommendations from the @doist blogs. Thanks for making awesome things.

Do you ever have so much to do that you don’t know where to start so you sit there trying to figure it out? I’ve decided start with the small things that take only a few min so my list looks shorter & take a walk.
