But this is the real struggle of online teaching and learning! Things will go wrong. The technology will fail. But that is ok. Rather than trying to fake it, embrace it! Your vulnerability as an instructor displays an authenticity that connects with students. Connections matter.

I started volunteering with a local uni program that offers lectures to the retired community. My job is to help folks learn how to Zoom so they can attend their online lectures (thanks to Covid). Today was day 1. It was magic. Go do something nice for others. You won’t regret it
