𝗟𝗜𝗠𝗣𝗢𝗣𝗢 𝗠𝗔𝗡 𝗔𝗥𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗗 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗣𝗔𝗬𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗧𝗝𝗢𝗧𝗝𝗢 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗔 𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗥𝗡𝗘𝗥’𝗦 𝗟𝗜𝗖𝗘𝗡𝗦𝗘 A 37-year-old man, Mpho Watson Nkgumane, made his first court appearance following his arrest for allegedly paying tjotjo to obtain a learner’s licence fraudulently at the Lephalale Testing Station in Limpopo. It is said that in 2021, the Hawks received complaints about officials who were issuing learner's and driver's licenses without following proper procedures in return for gratification at the Testing Station. In February 2025, a joint operation was conducted at the Lephalale Test Station, where the hawks entered the exam room and found eight learners taking the learner's driver's license test, while ten learners completed the attendance register. Preliminary investigations revealed that Nkgumane was outstanding, and he never sat for writing that day. The Hawks detected that Nkgumane paid gratification in the form of money. As a result, a warrant to arrest Nkgumana was issued. He was traced and apprehended in Lephalale. He appeared before the Lephalale Magistrate's Court for alleged corruption and was granted bail of R1000. #ChronicleNews
