Assalamu 'alaykum,
Some people have raised concerns about me charging money for my upcoming book even though all authors do this. First of all, just to have my book on Amazon as a 610 page paperback requires a minimum listing price of $13.87 and I'd receive $0 from that. You cannot post it there without reaching this minimum and it's not only Amazon where you face such restrictions or difficulties. Secondly, I spent about $1,500 just on proofreading, editing, and designing the book. More importantly, I've literally spent thousands of dollars on books and years of my time researching this topic. Most of the people who are requesting free PDFs to share around are the reason why publishing houses and bookstores are closing down. It also causes problems for authors to continue writing. Lastly, anyone who thinks that it is completely impermissible (haram) for a da'i to receive any money at all for their work, please don't buy my book. You literally have no religious grounds for your opinion and you're living in lala land. Listing my book at a price of $31.99 on Amazon results in my receiving only $10.87 per book. I'm not getting rich off of this project. For the people who say, "But it's supposed to be for the sake of Allah akhi!," please tell that to your imam at your local masjid, or your child's Qur'an teacher, or the 'ulema teaching at universities. For the people who genuinely cannot afford it, then you probably should spend more time getting on your feet financially and taking care of your family than wasting your precious time reading my book. For the students of knowledge genuinely struggling, I will make it my responsibility to find a way to get you a free copy. To check Amazon rates, see here: kdp.amazon.com/en_US/royalty-…

@MartinSLewis "Tax relief". So lets say your £100 short from your employer of what the going rate is. On a 20% tax bracket your only reimbursed £20 from HMRC. No one pays the remaining £80
English

NEWS: The work mileage allowance for under 10,000 miles will rise by 10p to 55p backdated to April 2026.
So this means if you drive for work in your own car (like many care workers for example) you can be given up to 55p a mile tax and NI free. And if you're not given that level you can claim the tax back on the difference between what you're given and that amount
Eg so if you're given 30p /mile. You can reclaim tax paid on your wages for the 25p/mile difference.

This isn't correct. If you cycle as part of your work you're entitled to up to 24p per mile tax free from your employer (and if your employer doesn't pay it, or pays less then you can write that off that amount against tax).
Ground Pound@GroundPound4
@MartinSLewis It's a gross disparity lots of workers who cycle, not just carers, get nothing towards work related travel costs. Bikes don't maintain themselves after all..
English

@AdnanHussainMP Few spelling errors but otherwise good to see from an MP. Keep it up!
English

@gillysuit21 @TheSalesBull1 It is but its nothing new - its been there a long time.
The issue is that prices have gone higher and fuel giants profits have doubled or more.
English

@_u5sy786 @TheSalesBull1 so you don’t think over half of the petrol price being only tax is a problem?
you’re literally not making sense.
English

Nobody understands bonds and that’s why we don’t have a revolution every week
The Spectator Index@spectatorindex
UK 10-year government bond yields surge to above 5%, the highest since 2008.
English

@TheSalesBull1 100% - problem is if we do carry on and following that motto...we are just creating a bigger downfall for ourselves and next generations in the future
English

@_u5sy786 ‘Keep calm and carry on’
English

@gillysuit21 @TheSalesBull1 But its always been tax - nothing new. What is new is that these companies are doubling their profits and there's no one holding them accountable.
Shame you can't see it
English

@_u5sy786 @TheSalesBull1 55% of the fuel price is JUST TAX btw. Getting mad at BP is psyop.
English

@ilyas_ibnbakr @AmzBoogie Shafi ruling same as hanafi - knee is awrah. Only maliki would allow it
English

@i_bbyyy @HappyGezim It's an actual valid fiqh opinion though! (and btw we would not replace the existing 3-D method as a result)
English

@MissExcalibur @abdullahsedit The problem is people want to charge extortionate when things should be free or reasonable. A Muslim should and can easily make a prayer app or a general app as a side hustle and provide it as sadaqah - why always money for these things?
English

@abdullahsedit The problem is no one also wants to pay. They think everything should be free and to do everything for the sake of Allah and not for money. This is why Muslims are behind and can only know how to open a burger joint. No one wants to support each other.

Peptides > finasteride for hair loss
Is it really worth having higher estrogen levels, lower libido, and a permanent dependency on this drug? Of course not.
I am 44 with a full head of hair because I use these methods instead:
- GHK-Cu helps rebuild blood vessels and repair follicle DNA.
- AHK-Cu increases growth factors and helps reverse thinning.
On top of this, I use:
- Tallow butter provides an anti-inflammatory base for the follicles.
- Microneedling allows peptides to get deep into the skin.
- Red light therapy gives dying follicles the cellular energy they need.
If you want my complete hair loss prevention protocol, comment the word "HAIR" and I'll send it to you.

@KemiBadenoch @MartinSLewis Also let's not forget it was conservative who made the rise to 9k a year for student loan and reduced grants. Politics at its finest here
English

@KemiBadenoch @MartinSLewis The problem is as a plan 2 student who is still paying it off - i have 20 years left until it gets wiped out. Keir has a hard choice - invest in our NHS and infrastructure or cap the thresthold/reduce interest.
English

Returned the favour and 'ambushed' @MartinSLewis in my office today with a group of graduates suffering under Plan 2 loan repayments!
But good on him for coming over to Parliament for round 2 of our debate on my plan to cut interest rates on student loans.
Martin and I don't agree on everything - but we know that graduates are being shafted by the current system, and we both care enough to try and change it.
And unlike Keir Starmer, Martin is willing to listen. Once again Starmer didn't answer any of my questions on student loans earlier today in PMQs.
It's because the PM knows that under his government graduates are getting poorer and job opportunities are disappearing.
Labour have no plan for young people. I do.

@asabbas98 @ThePillarsApp Is there any update so that the widget shows sunrise timing? A lot of time for fajr, its good to know sunrise without having to open the app. JzkAllah
English

Alhamdullilah, a nice (and medium-ish sized) but important refresh to our prayer page to @ThePillarsApp!
✨ Updated tree designs (inspired by recent trip)
✨ Fewer unnecessary lines/boxes
✨ Cleaner curve design (fewer contrasting colours)
✨ Updated Hijri calendar UI (from your feedback!)
All of the above creates a simpler, sleeker and more beautiful feel!
