@Huk06 This has been the case for years now, FED, Sales tax, WHT :| Telcos take WHT on every recharge but most people can't get it back.

Shocked that basic fuel of economy broadband is taxed so heavily. Why is government taking tax & then advanced tax? I was told I can claim it. Customers can’t manage tax labyrinths. What is this ridiculous rule. Just put one flat tax on everything. Nothing customer has to claim

@sohailabid @Nabeel1124 Last year, we got a swift glx over Yaris 1.3gl cvt and primarily because there wasn't a strict boot requirement and swift had a lot of features which Yaris gli didn't. While the drive of swift is good and decent fuel economy, Paksuzuki's build quality is atrocious.

@Zhuinden @catalinmpit Indeed 💯 One example of this: #issuecomment-4170372661" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">github.com/firebase/fireb… We're forced to use an old version of protobuf because newer versions break firebase (firestore for us) and we're stuck because a 2yr old issue still hasn't been fixed 😂

@catalinmpit Sadly, this is true. You can't just barge in and say "oh, I'm updating all of these things", as it may break functionality that is hard to test, and no one will notice until it's too late. My favorite was AGP update breaking Firebase, Firebase update breaking push notifications.

I strongly believe there are entire companies right now under heavy AI psychosis and its impossible to have rational conversations about it with them. I can't name any specific people because they include personal friends I deeply respect, but I worry about how this plays out. I lived through the great MTBF vs MTTR (mean-time-between-failure vs. mean-time-to-recovery) reckoning of infrastructure during the transition to cloud and cloud automation. All those arguments are rearing their ugly heads again but now its... the whole software development industry (maybe the whole world, really). It's frightening, because the psychosis folks operate under an almost absolute "MTTR is all you need" mentality: "its fine to ship bugs because the agents will fix them so quickly and at a scale humans can't do!" We learned in infrastructure that MTTR is great but you can't yeet resilient systems entirely. The main issue is I don't even know how to bring this up to people I know personally, because bringing this topic up leads to immediately dismissals like "no no, it has full test coverage" or "bug reports are going down" or something, which just don't paint the whole picture. We already learned this lesson once in infrastructure: you can automate yourself into a very resilient catastrophe machine. Systems can appear healthy by local metrics while globally becoming incomprehensible. Bug reports can go down while latent risk explodes. Test coverage can rise while semantic understanding falls. Changes happens so fast that nobody notices the underlying architecture decaying. I worry.

@AmerSharifOFCL Requiring CA-audited accounts from freelancers? 🤡 Most are 1-person setups, not companies. Also, PRCs often have wrong purpose codes if payments come via Payoneer/Wise. This feels totally out of touch with how things actually are. Someone needs to give FBR a reality check

Summary of Taxation of Export of Services
Amer Sharif tweet media
Amer Sharif@AmerSharifOFCL

If you’re a freelancer exporting IT/ITeS services, compliance is not optional — it’s what protects you from future tax exposure. Your export income should fall under final tax regime u/s 154A (0.25% / 1%) — but only if properly structured and documented. To stay compliant and avoid potential notices from Federal Board of Revenue, ensure the following: • Obtain a PRC (Proceeds Realization Certificate) from your bank with the correct IT/export remittance code • Share invoices/contracts with your bank so tax is deducted at the correct final rate (0.25% where eligible) • Receive payments strictly through banking channels and ensure conversion into PKR • Instruct clients to clearly state: “Payment for IT/ITeS services under formal contract” • Get registered with Pakistan Software Export Board to secure the 0.25% rate benefit • Maintain proper books of accounts and ensure review/audit for Section 111 compliance ⚠️ Critical misconception: Don’t confuse foreign income (service exports) with foreign remittance (family support). The commonly cited PKR 5M “safe limit” applies to remittances — NOT to income earned from services. Misclassification can trigger unexplained income proceedings u/s 111, leading to taxation at slab rates + penalties. Bottom line: Paying tax is not enough — correct classification, documentation, and routing is what ensures protection.

@Brandon_Guigo @JorgeCastilloPr You don't need maestro cloud for it to run. We're running it in our CI/CD via bitrise, just spin up an emulator via script and run maestro flows via script.

@valyala The fun part is the moment I stopped the sale a few days ago, purchases stopped, too. And that made me think the pricing might be off. But with these poll results, I'm now looking for an alternative explanation...

For over a decade I've relied on @intellijidea Android Studio to have a dozen projects open for as long as I wanted, no problem. Now, 2 projects open for 2 days the whole thing becomes a laggy buggy mess. Can't scroll smoothly in the editor, can't type in the terminal 🤬
Matt Carroll@SuprDeclarative

What happened to Android Studio? How do I get rid of this awful lag that happens in the code editor and the terminal? I avoided upgrading for a long time and now I get this.

@wahibhaq @TurkishAirlines Yup, got told the same, their tickets are from Kuwait airways too (23march). They said they'll give an option for refund or reschedule 1-2 days before 23.

@_uma1r @TurkishAirlines Yes, I am also tracking it. For sure, no flight will go through there. But the dilemma is that it is still showing "confirmed" and will get canceled only 2 days prior to departure but it will be too late to book a new one. All Airlines are following this pattern.

I have a @TurkishAirlines flight in 2 weeks to Pakistan with connecting flights from Istanbul & Kuwait. I know, a very bad idea but who would have thought. I am 100% sure it'll be canceled but they'll do it only couple of days prior. This is so unfair and I'm not the only one.

So id a CNIC is expiring, why does every financial institution start freaking out -- why can't they just access NADRA database and update the expiry date. Why does one need to update it individually everywhere. Some reasonable person fix this pls

All the fools with low IQ who got triggered by my Kotlin Multiplatform / Compose Multiplatform post I am running an agency, and I will create apps based on what clients prefer. I’m also going to advise the same to everyone expand your territory on the internet. High-quality people never fight with you they open doors to opportunities for you. So don’t chase low-quality followers. Build something and reach people who value your work.
