It’s been a while since I’ve gone in-depth, but I have a lot to say… The Gordon deal took me on quite the emotional ride, but in the best way possible. What started with confusion and scepticism gradually turned into acceptance, appreciation, and now something close to genuine gratitude. Let me take you on this journey! At the centre of that journey sat one question: is Gordon ‘unnecessary’? It’s the question that frames everything I’m about to say, and one I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about. No. Marcus Rashford was signed to backup Raphinha, and he more than did his job; he was a great loan signing. Yet there were certain dynamics he simply couldn’t recreate. Flick resorting to starting Fermin out wide in some hugely important games felt telling in that regard. And that’s where Gordon comes into play. He’s both Raphinha’s ‘compensator’ and his potential successor. In terms of dynamics, they enable you to play without compromise, and while some think that’s redundant, I’d call it fail-proof, and that’s exactly what makes it such a savvy signing. To elaborate further, there are certain dynamics a Hansi Flick system simply cannot function without. And Raphinha, or the idea of Raphinha, is one of them. However, players who only have one gear are rarely sustinable over the course of the entire season, and in Raphinha’s case, that single gear is precisely what makes him indispensable. He is relentless, physically exhaustive, and tactically non-negotiable to the way Flick wants his side to function. At nearly 30, asking that burden to remain permanent without insurance would be reckless. So yes, in conclusion, Gordon may be a stylistic replica, but deliberately so. Because if Raphinha is the dynamic, then the only way to guarantee it is to sign another version of the idea itself.

We went from literally no rumours to a hear we go within 24 hours. This is the most serious Barça have moved for a signing in as long as I can remember, incredible. No links, nothing, right until the deal was on the verge of completion. For a transfer this high profile, how on earth have we pulled this off? Hats of Deco. Hats off.

Flick inherited a disastrous backline, a literal laughing, got ZERO defensive reinforcements bar Cancelo on loan for 6 months, and he’s delivered 5 titles in two seasons. Gerard Martin didn’t even look good enough to be a squad player. It seemed like Eric’s career at the highest level was done. And Cancelo was chilling in Saudi Arabia. This is what he’s maximised, this is the context. Who else could do this? I’d bet no one. And if you’re being realistic, you would too. One of the best rebuild jobs I’ve ever seen, and he did it in no time, with no financial backing - just La Masia and a lot of faith.

Ystävääni ja hänen naisystäväänsä puukotettiin Helsingissä vappuna. He olivat viettämässä iltaa tuhansien muiden tapaan Helsingin keskustassa. Paljon on ainakin vasemmalta pyydetty tuomitsemaan naisiin kohdistuva väkivalta. Tuomitseeko vasemmisto myös tämän?

@BarcaUniversal We need better fullbacks + 1v1 threat on both sides. And obviously a striker.

@NealGardner_ Kane is the dream, not possible. Osimhen is the choice if finances are at place. If not, someone younger with a fitting profile

@K15998722 @TacticoModerno Is it realistic for a club struggling with FFPR etc. to keep player of Kounde’s market value + wages on the bench? I just don’t think so because that would mean money lost. Reallocating funds from Kounde’s sales is the only viable option IF he’s to be replaced on the XI

@_vilsu @TacticoModerno I see Kounde as a good sub not a starter. We need depth selling him and then having espart come as a sub is not it. Hopefully we can fix our financial issues to make it happen.

@_vilsu @TacticoModerno When I talk about keeping him as a roatation player I'm talking about using the money selling all those players I mentioned to get a better rb that pairs better with yamal and defends a lot better too, I'm not talking about using the money from selling Kounde to get another rb.

@K15998722 @TacticoModerno Lower cost does not mean worse by any means. Kounde is essentially the wrong profile.

@K15998722 @TacticoModerno You said Kounde has been trash and we are struggling to sign players. Therefore, I said perhaps the solution could be buying a player with better profile + potential. Physical player with overlapping potential would do wonders with Yamal. We can’t just but Livramento with 80 mill

@K15998722 @TacticoModerno Of course we cannot expect signings if we don’t sell. But reallocating our funds is certainly possible.

@K15998722 @TacticoModerno I don’t know who needs to use their head more after reading allat :D First of all, a scenario we’re selling Kounde, it’s realistic to expect a lower cost replacelement no? Selling Kounde could free FPP gap (helps signings) and enable investing for a more suited rb profile wise.
