📣Hosting a free weekly communal practice space over Zoom for anyone who practices better with others around.
Very simple format:
0) Join the meeting.
1) I announce the opening of the practice session.
2) Everyone types in the chat what they will dedicate this time to, set their intention, and begin.
3) We then practice in silence for 30 minutes.
4) Finally, I will announce the closing of the session.
Open practice, no guidance, no talking, just a space to show up, do your thing while others do theirs and maintain more accountability.
[Friday Mornings: 6:10 am UTC - 7:10 am CET - Thursday evenings: 10:10 pm PST]
Free to join, access through link in bio (patreon -> free tier)
May our practice be for the benefit of all sentient beings 🙏

Last night I had the intention to be "weird". Instead of shying away from "awkwardness", I LEANED INTO it. And I realized two things.
First, turns out my aversion for "weirdness" comes from the desire to please others. I take responsibility for avoiding "awkwardness". But doing so, I transform into a less authentic version of myself.
Second, turns out if I stay in "weirdness", people DON'T in fact leave. They stay, and I develop deeper connections with them because I act from a place closer to authenticity.
Crazy.

Ah, don't remember. Probably some different interpretations of meditation instructions, or different focus on what's important. Someone didn't like someone's emphasis on continuous awareness (e.g. during eating, walking) I think? But don't remember if this was particularly targeted against Maha.

@_virtual_vapor How did mahayana supposedly ruin everything?

Honestly I think I have become more confident during conversations when noticing the energy of Wanting To Impress, and just ignoring that.
Instead, talking from a more "grounded", "effortless" feeling. "Doing without doing". "Letting my subconscious just guide the words and behavior". And I feel my words be much more "authentic".
Not sure where or how I developed that ability. Probably just a byproduct of meditation. But its a nice feature.
Whenever I'm confused about how to act in a conversation, I try to do Less and things usually fall into place.
