💢 Hezbollah Claims Close-Range Ambush on Israeli Forces in Southern Lebanon, Evacuations Reported Hezbollah’s Islamic Resistance announced a close-quarters battle with an Israeli military unit near Khallat Raj, a small rural area in southern Lebanon in the Marjayoun district, close to the border with Israel, after fighters monitored the advancing force before opening fire at close range with light and medium weapons, claiming confirmed hits. Israeli forces reportedly responded with heavy covering fire to extract personnel and casualties, deploying additional vehicles to the contact zone. The Lebanese Resistance said its artillery units returned fire and its air defense units engaged Israeli aircraft attempting to maneuver near the battlefield, forcing them to withdraw. Israeli forces reportedly evacuated casualties by land to the town of Misgav Am before transferring them by air. In parallel operations, the Resistance claimed strikes on Israeli troop and vehicle gatherings near al-Khazan in Qantara and a drone strike on a newly established Israeli command position in Al-Bayyada.
