To reiterate, I’m an OT6 so if you have an issue with that you can just sb.
The only reason behind why I’ll stop supporting him is this:
“Why couldn’t he have waited for another year or two?”
Just yesterday I was set on being 6+1. But after the fancall, a lot of things didn’t sit right with me.
Again, I really respect him and that’s all I have to offer.
If he wanted to simply release one song, he probably could’ve. Mind u, he already did. Jw also just released a self composed song on his bday this year.
So he more likely wanted a solo debut.
But a solo debut doesn’t really happen early in a kpop group’s career.
If you’d look at it, the only ones who had solo debuts are 2nd gens and 3rd gens. Those that are established enough.
Jennie released her solo album 2 years after debut because duh? She’s Jennie from Blackpink. Their name speaks for itself.
Even BTS waited until their group hiatus in 2022 before they focused on their solo endeavors.
In 4th gen, the notable ones who had solo debuts are yeonjun and itzy, both of wc group’s momentum have significantly slowed down.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not degrading any of these artists/groups but I just based it on what I’ve read online.
So i’ve come to a conclusion that a solo debut, considering Enhypen’s momentum right now, is really not possible.
Why focus on solo debut when they are still making a name?
If you ask me, biases aside, SKZ is definitely one of the biggest group in 4th gen. They’re steadily catching up with the bigger groups from 3rd gen. But even stray kids don’t have a member who made their solo debut.
So what’s the real issue here? It all boils down to the desire to debut solo.
And it’s probably why Heeseung was given a choice between two and not both.
They’re a group. Every schedule must accommodate the seven of them.
With their current popularity, the
company can’t risk to set the others six aside as he fulfills his solo dream.
He can’t just ask for a solo debut and let the members schedules bend around him.
And honestly speaking? they’re not even as established yet
At the end of the day, timing matters.
Solo debuts can come later, but right now, the priority should be on their growth as a group.
That’s why I can’t support him further on because the timing and decision don’t sit right with me.
